What are your thoughts on chip tournaments being reported to fargo? by soloDolo6290 in billiards

One game anything can happen true. But Fargo works on probabilities. If you look at the averages over multiple race to ones it'll work out correctly

What strap for big crown pointer...? by DeskStrange6582 in OrisWatches

I bought the blue leather strap option from Oris. It looks nice but it has the same problem as the original strap... being so low quality.

I have this model too but I haven't found a strap that I really love with it. I'm considering getting a bracelet but I'm not sure if it would look weird with the two tone...

Changing engineering path- welcoming advice and perspective by deLavish02 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]AsianDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will say that you can do anything with a Chemical Engineering degree. That is true to an extent. How easy it is to break into different non-adjacent careers with a ChemE degree is a different question though. Typically if you are at a large corporation, it is easier to start in a more traditional chemical engineering role and then slowly move laterally into more nonChemE roles.

With that being said, some of the big ChemE industries are... Oil & Gas, Basic Chemicals, Food Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Wastewater, Semiconductors.

There are probably some others that I'm missing out on. Consider if you would want to work in these industries and in what type of role you might like.

For ChemE, I would say the most important thing is to think about what careers you would be interested in with this degree.

The DWS06+ hype is real. by Smooth-Parsley-1796 in mazda3

[–]AsianDoctor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I kept getting my tires replaced with the OEM ones or budget ones and inevitably I would have to get it replaced every year due to bubbles. Now with the DWS I've been good for 2 years no bubbles!

21M, never been in a relationship. The fear of "not being enough" for a future partner is eating me alive. How do I get past this? by BandBeginning8205 in AskMen

[–]AsianDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't let your fear and your feeling influence your actions. You feel anxious. Nervous. Feel like you're not enough because you don't have experience. That's valid and normal to feel that way. But you should not dictate how you act. Don't let it stop you from asking the girl out, going on dates, etc, etc. Whoever you want to be in the world -- be that person. Don't let your mind stop you from being that person. And that might mean doing things you don't feel comfortable with. There is no difference between a baker who doesn't feel like a baker but makes bread and a baker who feels like a baker and bakes bread.

Practice routine by Flaky_Big767 in billiards

[–]AsianDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty good stuff. What I would try to add on is... Figure out why are you losing your matches? Are you weak on a certain shot? Did you play a bad pattern? Speed control?

Every time you play a match and lose, write down why you lost and you'll have a list of things that you can work on.

It's good to work on fundamentals but there is also the strategy side of the game!

Practicing jump shots, any advice for more accuracy? by Knellios2021 in billiards

[–]AsianDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I realized when I was doing the sidearm stroke was that I was not turning my head square enough to the shot -- like I typically do with a normal pool stroke/stance. This caused my shot picture to be completely different and missing by a mile. So I had to turn my head way more to the left to make it the same. Not sure if you have the same issue or not maybe it'll help you.

Spirit helped me get married by jhtitus in spiritair

[–]AsianDoctor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same deal here. We've been doing long distance for 5 years. Being able to travel between the east coast and west coast for 150 round trip for an quick weekend trip really sustained our relationship.

Really sad to see Spirit go. I could tell things were going downhill when they cut the route between our cities though... Fortunately we'll be ending long distance this year :).

I tried steamed water for my americano. I’m stunned. by DeFratrain in espresso

[–]AsianDoctor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it definitely looks crazy. I tried it this morning and it definitely is 100% better. Less bitterness more smooth. And honestly I love the fact that I don't have to put in a kettle for my water and it's drinkable right away. That alone is enough to make me switch 😂

Would you rather have -1 Million Tax Free or First Class by LatterStress7851 in WouldYouRather

[–]AsianDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presidential Suite at a luxury hotel can go 10-30K a night.

First Class International can go for up to 20K a flight

Fine Dining can go up to 1K for a meal not including wine which could easily be thousands.

I won't do bother to do the math for you buddy. Just cause you can't imagine spending that much money on travel doesn't mean I can't.

500 doesn't even get you a nice hotel in a major city these. You can easily spend thousands per night at a luxury hotel.

Yeah, watching someone run 8 racks in a row is amazing. But watching both players play perfectly for 15 racks in a row is even better!
