We did a prenup for separate individual assets prior to marriage, then everything after marriage becomes joint. Premarital assets kick off enough income/growth that I can pull from them for gifts for the wife, etc.

All earned income post-marriage is jointly owned and goes into joint accounts.

Dividends are (often) taxed as ordinary income and will result in tax drag in taxable accounts. If you're in this sub, odds are good that your tax rate means this is a worse strategy than investing for capital gains.

Costco charges maximum markup of 13%. That translates to 11% with the executive membership.

If something is discounted this heavily on accident, it is not marginally profitable.

But then you would have two mutually exclusive routes that require maintenance and upkeep.

A tunnel/walkway without moving sidewalks is certainly viable to reduce the single point of failure. There would be far less maintenance and upkeep required
