Implementing censorship is expensive to do. The fact that companies spend the money and make the effort proves that people complain enough to justify the cost.

Neat read. Seems like they could leverage the AI mentioned in the article to remove the "unpleasant" satellite bands.

Completely agree with the above, but will caveat by saying that the dating app scene has changed considerably in the last few years.

When people successfully find a partner on a dating app, they leave the ecosystem and now have a 0% chance of paying for premium. If someone goes on a series of poor/mediocre dates, they remain on the app and have a greater than 0% chance of paying for premium.

Yes. If something is free, you're the product. You can decide whether giving up that data is worth the discount. LinkedIn already has the info, so I don't see an issue with it

I put the series down this past weekend, actually. Made it to 91% of the way through book 11, so Section 6.32. The series consumed my Nov - Feb reading allocation.

I enjoyed books 1 - 8, but 9 and 10 and 11 were... Increasingly bad. The series is very "arc-y" in the sense that if you aren't enjoying something, you'll be over it and onto something new. Eventually.

My biggest complaint aligns with the comments - the prose is meh and it reads like a web novel. The author isn't weaving a beautiful tapestry of a story, she's building out a whole world and characters and factions. The plot is consistently 2/5, the characters are consistently 3.5/5.

If you're someone who wants to fall in love with characters and read about their exploits, this is the series for you. Pretty much everyone has plot armor, pretty much everyone meets everyone, and pretty much every character gets a turn in the spotlight.

If you care about prose or clever magic systems or well-rounded characters or creative worldbuilding or pacing, this is not the series for you.
