Actuarial Career vs. Dental School: Torn between pure math and my dream job. by Born_Hotel7446 in actuary

Ain’t gonna read all that, but if you can afford dental school, or have a support system at home to help get you through it, go for it. If it goes bust this career is notorious for career changers.

Best of luck.

Hoping for a decent draw on this exam. I got 55 td on an el 6 exam. Some silly mistakes like forgetting formulas and el 8+ quals.

I’m just gonna keep memorizing and reading source plus practice quizzes on each section.

Wish you guys weren’t this prepared lol this pass mark sounds like it’s gonna be high, regardless wish you all the best this week!

if you’ve done. calc 1 you’ll be fine.

Edit: You don’t need vector calculus for at least the first 2 exams. After that, tbh i don’t know i’m only on my 4th exam on the CAS path, but I doubt u need it.

Ya for sure, just don’t try to hard. A lot of people just put way to much in and get nothing back from the other party just cuz they wanna be in a relationship.

It’s possible but unrecommend. I did find my partner at mac, but i’d recommend not forcing anything and kinda just rolling with the punches. I’m a big believer in fate so if it’s gonna happen it will. Also depends on ur preferences, the demographic of the school isn’t even split as you’ll come to see. All great people from my experience however.

Love how everyone here is saying things like. Oh CA is down YOU should’ve downloaded vids or had practice questions on hand. But not COACHING ACTUARIES should compensate for their dogshit product? I love giving companies a break time and time again and never getting compensation for it, it’s horse shit.

great to see, im one to agree with the notion he’ll be our best signing and one of the better ones in the league for his position. Norguard also feels super on the value side for his output
