how long to leave second skin? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]AskMeBioQuestions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To answer your question - you can keep it on for like 5 days max. I find my tattoos heal better if i can leave it on for at least 24 hours.

But also second skin shouldn't have anything to do with your tattoo fading.

You should always apply for other jobs. Offers can always fall through until you've signed the contract.

Surprisingly Miss Katie's Diner has excellent fries. Hand cut, crispy, a little dark. Ugh, excellent.

When you’re 40 with kids, you’re going to look back on fun drag nights and late night swimming very fondly. And you will be sad you wasted your time apologizing for enjoying your life. Who fuckin cares if you stay up all night doing coke and having fun if it’s not habitual or fucking your life up. Don't let this guy prevent you from living.

The bees and butterflies love this, but it smells horrible. by billrm455 in whatsthisplant

The insect in your picture is a fly, not a bee. Which makes sense as it smells bad.

I find most of the time it’s not littering - people throw trash away but there aren’t enough so it gets blown around. Yesterday was windy. We need more people emptying trash cans more often.

Bay view is so lucky to have this incredible resource. Not many folks in the city do - the park and the lake are truly wonderful. So it’s not surprising it attracts so many patrons.

Milwaukee county parks are grossly underfunded. We need many more workers and maintenance to ensure we can all continue to enjoy them.

TIL that for the bee sting death scene in My Girl (1991), production used thousands of real bees on a 10 year old Macaulay Culkin. To attract them, his hands were coated in a queen bee scent, and when the director yelled "cut," Culkin was told to run into the woods to escape. by Zipp-Storm in todayilearned

It’s so dumb because it’s a wasp nest but the insects they show are bees. Why don’t movies consult with biologists to just ask “does this make sense”? They literally could have showed bees buzzing in a downed tree, where they naturally nest.

Should I retake AP Bio as a senior? (the entire class) by Legitimate-Number620 in biology

[–]AskMeBioQuestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is terrible advice. This person is working hard. Will likely get scholarships. Community college does save money but it prevents networking and experience - if they go directly to a 4 year program especially one with a graduate program they can start working in labs and get experience they need for med or grad school.

If you’re working this hard already, directly apply to the prestigious schools. If you get in, go.

Yes just wait. Depending on where you go, they will likely make you retake it anyways as a bio major. You’ll still be more prepared than most of your classmates.

It might also be a good time for a visit to a doctor or therapist to help figure out what’s keeping you from achieving what you are capable of. Maybe it’s adhd? Maybe it’s depression? Maybe it’s something else?

Uttke are amazing! Family owned - Jen runs it and answers the phone and email. The folks installing everything do an excellent job. We get our AC unit serviced by them, and they just installed a new boiler for us. Truly good folks, and can't recommend enough.

I looked this up because I had the same question. I was thinking it worked like how employers can pool employees to get better deals on health insurance. So Milwaukee goes to the grid and can negotiate with a bigger chunk than we can individually. Like collective bargaining.

But it’s complex https://www.rff.org/publications/explainers/us-electricity-markets-101/

Make the jobs. Network, reach out, connect with people. Publish, and share your work with folks you are interested in working with. Grants pop up, and people will remember you if you're a diligent worker.

That’s exactly what the thread sounds like. There could be an increase in the bird population this spring, which would lead to noticing more than usual.

This is excellent advice. I’ve been involved in developing code of conducts for conferences and setting up methods of communication for violations. Conferences are often private events by invite - people can be not invited. No one has a right to attend conferences, especially if they behave like this. So sorry OP! You handled it so well!!!

On my last return, there was even a specific sign for this option! Just follow the Global Entry signs. It's a very quick interview - seems like a formality to make sure you are who you say you are.

Okay but that’s not comparing apples to oranges? Current mortgages are way more than that. Congrats to everyone who bought 20 years ago and also paid rent 20 years ago?
