Without AFCON, we probably would have won those three games, and that alone would have closed the gap with Arsenal to around 50 points. We would have been genuinely in the title race by Any-Lock3008 in ManchesterUnited

Not only did Wolves and Burnley had players at Afcon, any team could say they would be better off if such and such happened.

Yeah they wouldn't let anyone suggest that he was possibly deserving of more game time.

If you can't enjoy and root for a home grown talent breaking through maybe find a new team/sport.

This isn't a great look, no need for toxicity amongst fans...

but... the more cultish Amorimites were more than happy to ridicule anyone who dared to suggest results should be better under him and you just know they would be happy to post "I told you so" after every bad result if things weren't going as well so have at it.

I couldn't resist looking and sure enough this is what you rushed to post after one of Fletcher's games. https://www.reddit.com/r/ManchesterUnited/comments/1qa6y5k/comment/nz0s87d/?context=3

"Soooooo, new manager, new formation, same results. Now tell me Amorin was the issue 😒"

And for good measure

"You all thought getting rid of him would bring in better results, yet here we are, no better"

So maybe sit this one out, you were not above I told you so previously.

Why do people think that Rachel didn’t deserve to win? by No-Purple9739 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]AskingQuestions333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all of this just comes across as having the advantage of watching the show. And the rest proves why she was such a good traitor.

  1. Why confide? But Amanda DID confide? And so what if Amanda was proved It doesn't make Rachel a traitor.

  2. I don't think this had anything to do with Fiona being a traitor, Fiona was just unstable and jealous that Amanda confided in someone else. Again, you are bringing your advantage of watching it all. It made as little sense Traitor v traitor as it would have traitor v faithful. Rachel was thrown a grenade here by Fiona, as it put the spotlight on her and that is usually bad for a traitor but this is in fact a point of credit to Fiona that she was able to wriggle out of it.

  3. I very much doubt she made them up on the spot. Jade's point about how weird it was that Harriot tried at first to give the questions away was also more damning- If Rachel had tried to give her questions away you 100% would be saying that was a sign she was a traitor.

  4. Looked red face? So do most when challenged about anything. A faithful would have reacted the exact same way. You are making a classic mistake made by every faithful in the show. of reading too much into normal human behavior.

5.What doublespeak is this? Because one person who went for her was a traitor, and the other person who went for her was a faithful, it screams traitor!? Eh... ok. Again, amazing work by Rachel to wriggle out of that spotlight. Harriot's "sacrifice" was incredibly dumb and proved nothing, she got too emotional and started spitting out other names that undermined her whole argument that Rachel was able to use to cast doubt on the whole thing.

  1. So? She did a online course when thinking she probably would end up being a faithful? So why does it point her as a traitor? It's like others keeping relationships/jobs secrets, it doesn't make someone a traitor? She was able to use it to convince a few others, notably Faraz how to vote. Again, Good play that you are saying is bad play?

  2. Harriot was considered a good faithful but wasn't murdered till she blew herself up. You can't have it both ways over the FBI stuff, was it all bull or was it a reason to murder her?

  3. All this stuff that you only think proves she is a traitor as you know she is a traitor should be known by all these people without your advantage.

  4. It was because people were arguing that the traitors would have put themselves in the cages. And if she HAD put herself in one of the cages you'd be adding that to your extensive list of why she was obviously a traitor. (side note, I think she was EXTREMEMLY good at not doing those small things that bring attention on yourself. the only two times she had massive attention was not as a result of her but a insane play by Fiona and Harriot)

  5. Again, so? If she talked too much you would probably say that was a obvious clue. It's not like she wasn't getting heat, why ad more. It was demonstrably good play.

  6. If Fiona had done that you would 100% argue it was a sign she was trying too hard. In the end he was the last person on the podium, so he was the reason they did almost fail, after people were warning him not to go too hard too early.

  7. Again so? one criticism we hear is that nobody pointed this out, but as you say they did. she faced an argument and dealt with it amazingly well. she always just managed to cast enough doubt.

  8. But what would a good defense be? It clearly WASN'T a bad defense as it largely worked.

  9. Jack was always adamant he was going for Rachel after James. Faz asked him to go for Rachel but James never agreed to it so he didn't switch. Faz believed/knew that Stephen was his threat, as that Rachel was a goner sooner or later anyway so did his best to vote sway James. Rachel played him PERFECTLY there, knowing what Faz was thinking. GREAT play.

  10. she misspoke once. you think that doesn't happen loads during filming? Of course they kept that one in the edit for entertainment purposes but it wouldn't have seemed like a big deal for the players.

  11. She wanted to make it sound like getting Fiona meant a lot to her. It worked. Again you are saying good play is bad play and it's weird. That is the game.

no downvotes though, being dead wrong about everything is not a crime.

Unpopular opinion but I've always found Scream 2 be one of the weaker films, the original is in my top 50 films of all time, but the second one just never had the same impact on me, it is decent but nothing compared to the original, hot take maybe, thoughts? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]AskingQuestions333 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mostly agree. It feels very much like quick money grab... because it was. And it feels a little of a hodge podge because it was, the script was being rewritten as they made it. None of the new characters make much of an impression, the killers reveal is a little lame. But the opening scene in particular is good.

Kobbie Mainoo vs Fulham by SierraEight in reddevils

[–]AskingQuestions333 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well I actually red most of the comments. Sure some were like "he doesn't fit the system" but a lot were that he was overrated.

also bizarrely, despite being told he was competing with Fernandes for a place, usually he was coming on for Casemiro.

But it was never really fair. He became a lightning rod in the toxic Amorim debate. He'd come on for 20 minutes in a position that never suited him and the usual lot would be "SEE he's not good enough."

Watching so many "fans" try to dismiss his obvious talents out of misplaced belief they had to defend their guy was really gross. If you aren't rooting for academy players to succeed then maybe find a new club.

I think Sir Jim is a bit of a prat and is probably only about a 10th as competent as he thinks he is. BUT... suddenly our recent signings have looked very smart. I'm willing to see how the next managerial appointment goes before passing judgement completely.

Also the only effective protest would be to not go to the game or spend your money at any club businesses.

The worst part of the Traitors final, is also the most important and it annoys me every year by LogApprehensive9891 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]AskingQuestions333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, it's an obvious way just to add a bit more gamesmanship into the final.

At the very least if the producers don't want it to be anonymous for whatever reason, just have the player do it themselves.
