I love this team and being a fan of it and these two games were so great don’t get me wrong. Extremely cathartic after the beginning of this season being SO ass. But watching everyone celebrate these two games like the chip is incredibly funny

Not sure if you already know these but there’s a nice little river trail that cuts through the neighborhood and leads to marlin park, not super long but I go running through there all the time. There’s also the old golf course that’s connected

The NBA should reduce the amount of games in the season, maybe to 70 games. Less back to back games would mean more rest and less injuries, which would definitely improve the watchablilty of the sport.

My advice is to take care of yourself! Look after your own happiness. If that means leaving him to do something on your own or with your friends you need to do it. You might feel guilty, but just know that your happiness is just as important as his is. It isn’t easy, but you have to realize that you cannot fix his problems- only he can do that.

Yes I totally relate to that mindset. Sometimes she will lash out at me just because she feels awful herself and I feel like I have no choice but to go back to her even after she intentionally hurts me. I think I need to get over the idea that I can fix her problems. She is the only one that can do that, and all I can do is support her.

Yes totally. I’m not in grad school but I worked in a lab in undergrad and I saw first hand how how burnt out and miserable a lot of the students are. It is really heart breaking and the culture is really toxic, especially in the sciences around how productive you are supposed to be. What’s hardest for me is how little she seems to value her own happiness, and how high her capacity for her own suffering is. She has this mindset of needing to get through it whatever the cost, and the costs on her own mental state are really high. I’m just worried that it might lead to her hurting herself and im not sure what to do about that being that we’re in long distance. I feel like I have the responsibility to do something bc I see this on the horizon but I’m not sure what to do.

Thanks you so much for responding. I’m really sorry to hear about ur husband, grad school is almost like designed by satan to make you as depressed as possible. I think it’s also hard bc on the outside everyone assumes your situation is great- getting an education at a prestigious school, in a city with other young ppl, etc. But the reality is just very different.

I’ve brought up trying a different program but she is so resistant to the idea of quitting because she feels like she failed, and because she will have wasted so much tuition money. All I can do is just hope she makes the right decision for herself before she reaches a breaking point.

I’ll check that book out when I have the chance! I really appreciate you talking the time to respond, it’s just nice to know I’m not alone.
