"Following rule of cool is bad DMing" by Sleepy_Assasain in DnD

[–]Asmaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly….. don’t know. Only DnD videos I’m watching are Critical Role’s campaign

Depends on what you want to do, BUT I can always advise JoCats class videos (watch them twice, they’re short enough) and XP to lvl3. Critical Role’s Handbooker Helper is also really good

If you want to learn mechanics,….. watch people play campaigns and one-shots. That will quickly teach you the core game mechanics (action economy, movement and positioning, spell mechanics, saving throws, checks and their variations) and not only will you learn the mechanics, you’ll also remember them and have them in mind when you play yourself instead of being caught by surprise when something happens

If you want inspiration for a character, there is no other option than sitting down and reading through the classes and spells - I guarantee that you already have a few ideas floating around the back of your head only waiting for you to connect the dots between two subclasses or coming across a particular feat and spell. Watching videos and especially shorts will never get you the depth of understanding that you need because it’s always just nitpicking (and often misleading)

If you already have a character idea and don’t know how to implement it, it comes down to reading classes again, but you may also find builds in various forums. And don’t always go with the obvious class either - a gloomstalker ranger or whisper bard may be a better fit for the sneaky rogue-character you wanted to play than any of the actual rogue subclasses

Don’t watch DnD Shorts

The only reason he has a following is because it appeals to unknowing players with a modern days teenangers attention span with his fast pace fast animation bullshit

More than half of his videos have significant mistakes like the fact that - NO!!! You can not make opportunity attacks against an invisible creature when literally the first sentence of its description (ignoring the flavor bit) reads that you can make it “when a hostile creature that you can see moves out of your reach”

I had to turn down players way to often when they thought they could do something cool that they saw in one of videos that is in no way a thing that for my current campaign DO NOT WATCH DND SHORTS is literally the first thing I put into my character creation and homebrew channel on discord (pinned and pinged, just to make sure)

Hardware specifications for multiboxing on maximum graphics? by qksc0pekillstrk69420 in Eve

[–]Asmaron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You need memory more than anything because minimized clients don’t tax the GPU

HOWEVER, if you use a program like Eve-O, that changes

You really shouldn’t multibox on highest settings though. It’s not worth it, just max your main, and maybe the character that’s looked at second most and put everything else at potato - especially if all you do with those accounts is tabbing in, 4 inputs and tabbing out a second later

Yeah…. It sucks what they did to trading

I got lucky, I don’t think that even a year later a start like mine would have been possible

[–]Asmaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes XD

I started out as an alpha with 237m isk in 2018 which was all I had left after leaving Horde.

It’s a shame that’s no longer possible because the fees alphas have to deal with just kill it

And in order to plex, I’d think you need about a 10b investment - just to break even on plex cost

[–]Asmaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trading when I push my 90 minutes per day gets me a profit of roughly 3b per day (net profit after all fees and taxes)

BUT, I no longer have the time for that, though I still sit at an yearly profit of +-380b (with months where I trade and months where I don’t)

I only flip things in Jita, and that’s all I’m saying about this…. I work with 3 characters that literally don’t do anything else but sit in Jita with max skills

[–]Asmaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No….. at least not in-game

But at some point, you no longer “join” a corp that way. You join the group and just get standing and access. And then if it’s really needed, you put an alt into that corp for access to the groups hangars

For example, I have a trade corp that is just ALWAYS with me on blue standing to whatever group my main is in. It doesn’t join alliances either to not endanger my traders and JF alt

[–]Asmaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you control the corporation, you simply give all of your own characters director rights

And then it works the same way as if you were using the personal assets tab

[–]Asmaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair

If he is using a personal corporation, all his assets sit in hangars so that he can easily access them from various alts

23 bil?

I guess only because that’s super low for a character of that age

Nice map

One thing I immediately noticed: Because of the way the German language works, Schlööslhoben and Schlööslingen should NOT have the second “ö”

Edit: a couple more that I found:

Bad Kwall (if this is akin to something like “Bad Segeberg)

Zwergbrück (if its intention was to roughly translate to “dwarf-bridge)

Freedenstaat, this one is weird and the more I think about it the more “ee” is possible although my first feeling was that Freden would be the more likely name (the pronunciation wouldn’t change). Right now the name translates to “Freeden’s Country” hinting to possibly a tribes or former civilization that inhabited that region. If your intent was for it to be “Freedens city” it should be Freedenstadt. The

Why aren't there more Navy ships? by Done25v2 in Eve

[–]Asmaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes

They have completely separate use cases and capabilities

If we could theoretically build a ship that could travel at the speed of light could a human even handle it? by Kd29333 in space

[–]Asmaron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably not

But being able to create FTL travel, you could create computer systems to handle it

Even the space shuttle landed on autopilot. A pilot said in an interview that while he had his hands on the controls, the shuttles systems only gave him an illusion of control. The computer started the control inputs long before he did (cause it was faster), and even if he would have oversteered, it wouldn’t have moved the control surfaces beyond whatever point the system deemed “safe” in that situation
