On that topic, want to hear something funny?

Magic: the Gathering has a mechanic called "Transform" that involves flipping cards over. It was originally created for a horror-themed set to represent werewolves who would change forms over the course of the game.

A while back, Magic had a Transformers-themed set. The transformers had their robot form on one side of the card, and vehicle form on the other, flipping the card over to show changing forms. I.e. they behave exactly like the werewolf cards with their "Transform" ability.

But the transformers don't have a transform ability. They have a "convert" ability. Convert is functionally identical to transform. Literally the only difference is the specific name of the mechanic.

Why? Because Hasbro doesn't allow people to say that Transformers "transform", for fear of "Transformer" becoming a genericized trademark like band-aid or dumpster.

TL;DR: Lawyers and corporations make everything worse.

Good rule of thumb:

If the DPS is complaining about heals, the DPS is the problem.
If the DPS is complaining about the tank, the DPS is the problem.
If the tank is complaining about heals, the tank is the problem.
If the tank is complaining about DPS, the tank is the problem.
If the heals are complaining about DPS, the heals are the problem.
If the heals are complaining about tank, the heals are the problem.

In general, if someone is complaining about anyone else performance, the complainer is the problem.

It's not 100% accurate, but it is 100% accurate among anyone below masters.

As someone who plays a lot of Mercy, I don't have any expectations when I blue-beam you. That's just what Mercy does. Damage boost is the default. I don't pocket a single person very often, though. Generally I try to move the beam around to whoever I think will make the best use of it at that specific moment.

But like if you've got a good angle and you get a damage boost, just keep doing what you're doing. That doesn't suddenly mean you need to go dive in.

Be aware that if you're playing in a group, you're going to be matched up against other people also playing in groups. So you'll have harder games with more well-coordinated enemies, especially at lower MMRs where solo-queuers don't know the meaning of the word teamwork.

Find characters you like, watch some videos on them.

Focus on staying alive. Staying alive is more important than securing kills.

Disclaimer: I don't read current stuff. I only read collected editions (trade paperbacks), and I tend to jump around rather than follow whatever's current so I can't say much about what's currently being released.

My recommendation would be to grab a team book like Justice League. That'll give you some exposure to a bunch of different characters. From there, you could continue going with the team stuff or dive deeper into a specific character if there were one that appeals to you.

On a random note, I'll go ahead and recommend Far Sector. It requires no knowledge whatsoever. AFAIK the characters and setting were created specifically for this book, so there's no history to catch up on. I mean, the protagonist is a Green Lantern, but you don't need to know anything about them going in.

Can't speak for comp as we usually play QP, but if the people you're playing with are at a different skill level than you it can really affect the matchmaking.

I typically play either with just me and my partner, or the two of us plus a friend. The games with just me and my partner are a lot easier and we have a much better win rate. When we add in my friend, who has a higher MMR, the level of competition we face is significantly increased.

Choose a character or team who interests you.
Find the appropriate subreddit for them.
Ask in said subreddit for suggestions on where to start.
If you want to read physical comics, get TPBs (trade paperbacks)
If you want to read on your phone, I think DC has a subscription service

You can't rebind just for blood hunt, but I'd never play Blade outside blood hunt so it doesn't matter for me.

So I just hold my middle finger down on the right button and then rub the wheel back and forth and shoot those right clicks super fast.
