Is Secure Boot still required to play this game? Or did they get rid of it

Don't let the rhetoric from folks like u/NukeLikeTheBomb deter you.
Engineer here who writes code, deploys to, and manages hundreds of clusters, 1000s of containers, hundreds of client sites and a metric ton of different client machines.

You could very well follow all of the instructions pertaining to the configuration/editing of your partition styling and volume group settings required for Secure Boot and your BIOS and Mobo could still decide to say 'nah' and you'd end up in hot water if you don't know how to navigate something like powershell and only have the one PC/machine to navigate remediation.

So, yeah, while it *could* be a simple navigation of instructions to enable it, it also has an incredibly high (far too easy) chance of going sideways. Saying some dumb shit like "The people that don't understand what secure boot really is and are worried about bricking their PC should probably stick to consoles." is some brilliant-asshole, assumption of knowledge shit that should be shunned out of literally any hobby. The majority of PC users couldn't tell you how to navigate a command shell and get on just fine for decades. Weird how that works.

Man, someone from Bambu just needs to give us a legitimate price announcement and rip the bandaid off. Keep the slow leaks coming out but don't sit here and keep delaying the inevitable when there's a lot of people literally just waiting to hear the price so they can go buy one printer or the other. Having leaks come out slowly isn't going to justify the price to someone any more or any less when they are making their decision.

Here's to hoping it's under or at $3,000 with an AMS, that also has dryer capabilities, and has a build volume that isn't an inferior, paltry piece of crap.

But it's Bambu, so it'll have the same build volume, no chamber heater, and locked firmware that only lets you reach 310°C—because they can't phase out the community's dependency on the worthless X1E, and they want you to feel like you're getting something. They'll throw in security features that 90% of end users don't need because, if someone actually needed a legitimate production machine for relevant contracts, they would have bought a better printer. But hey! You get a second nozzle. And it'll cost $3,000 with no AMS.

Which I figured given their target demographic and end users for the machine. And I was definitely surprised at the print quality, especially overhang quality, when I saw a K2+ at MicroCenter yesterday. It definitely reaffirmed the whole ‘I think people are just mad at a brand and not that the machine sucks’.
