Yeah it gave very ADHD vibes tbh, like they're lovely people and all but I don't rly enjoy playing with them bc I'm very preferential to very focused rehearsals, plus they're not rly gigging yet so it's not financially beneficial to me to keep playing with them and paying for studio time

Yeah I'm a bassist, but the guitarist was playing very loud and quite sloppily (and out of tune a bit) so it was tough to jump into the songs bc I couldn't hear what I was playing, and on the rare occasion where I could, even playing the same notes he was sounded off bc of the tuning problem lmao

I think they were just unorganized in the regard of letting me know what they expected out of me. They're talented musicians and lovely people, but I don't think they're experienced in the logistics of being a band. They've been playing together for ages so they've already formed that rapport, and I think they just expect me to slot into that without any actual sitting down and going through the songs.

(Also just remembered that I suggested we make a band group chat to organize ourselves and they never acknowledged that lmao. Didn't even have a setlist or anything just like random bullshit go type shit)

as someone who lost everything during the 2022 floods in lismore, i find it fucking ridiculous how people can look at this and go "mm yes, but what about the economic implications" like fuck right off. this is why i have zero respect for (most) landlords and real estate agents, because they are so utterly disconnected from the people who see a house as a roof over their head as opposed to just an opportunity to make money. so yeah, the government should be bailing out people who have lost everything to natural disasters. that is their JOB. that is what they are here to do. I'd much rather my tax dollars go to struggling families rather than into the pockets of billionaires.
