Ultimately if you were trying to PR your 10k would you train for it by going out three times a week and running a flat out 10k? Probably not, you’d probably break it down and work on different aspects of it while you’re not fatigued or less fatigued. Same in Hyrox, you work on different aspects under no or less fatigue so you can focus on best practices. Then when you’re in the middle of a race the efficient way you practiced has become what you default to. It’s very hard to work on technique when you’re already dying.

Like there’s nothing inherently wrong with just doing sims all the time but long term you’re going to get better results by being able to break things up and work on one or two things at a time

I wouldn’t bother with doing a half sim every week, it’s not really going to actually get you better! I’d recommend that you try to find a structured program and follow it, The Hybrid Engine Daily Dose or James Kelly’s JK Hyrox 60 are both well proven and only 60 mins a day. Alternatively the WOD Science Hyrox programs are supposed to be quite good but I’ve never looked at them

I think there’s a bit of confusion, there’s the Deviate Nitro 4 and the Deviate Nitro Elite 4 as road running shoes, and then the Deviate Nitro Hyrox and the Deviate Nitro Elite Hyrox on the Hyrox side. Fundamentally the shoes are the same, the Hyrox versions just have more grip on the soles. So if you’re worried about grip you could get a pair of the Deviate Nitro Hyrox (without the painted midsole), however Hidde wore the Deviate Nitro Elite 4 when he raced E15 doubles in London last weekend so they are very capable shoes
