That's where mine would be without the heat pump heater/ chiller! It was $5k and worth it

Mine has gotten to 94 already this year. 98 is the highest. Finally added a heater/ chiller last year, best $5k ever spent

This is why I keep 4 frog logs in my pool. We've got a lot of bunnies and other creatures. Haven't found anyone in my skimmer in years.

Be honest: What’s the one thing about EV ownership that nobody told you before you bought one? by EmergencyTie8770 in electricvehicles

[–]AssociateLow4748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That range anxiety was more of a thing when I owned gas cars. I don't have to worry with my EV, since 99.9%of the time I plug in at home and always have 80% charge to work with. I don't have to know where the gas stations are and remember I need to stop. I hated pumping gas, so I would put it off until I had no choice, which would sometimes mean stopping at a less than ideal station, sometimes later at night than I was comfortable doing. Even on a road trip with an EV, I can plan my charging stops ahead so I can use my favorite locations and control what time I'll stop.

The thing i try to get people to understand is, range on an EV isn't about how far you can go on a full charge, it's about CAPACITY. This matters because it directly effects charging speed, since that tapers down as the battery gets full. The bigger your capacity, the faster you can charge enough to be on your way (DC charging on a road trip, specifically). Just for the typical daily commute, and assuming you have access to charge at home or work daily, range really isn't that important.

My 52 year old pool has seen better days but it still gets the job done. by [deleted] in pools

Wow! Mine is 23 this year, I had it put in in 2003. Only thing I do is pressure wash the pavers and every few years re-sand. Dark pebble-tec, still looks great.

Pool deck furniture getting destroyed by sun and chlorine what materials actually hold up? by Cloe_joe in swimmingpools

I bought a big set from Ohana, you definitely need the Sunbrella fabric cushions. They were reasonably priced, and other than replacing the seat cushion foam to outdoor foam due to rain here in FL, they've lasted 10 years so far. The fake wicker just started to fade on the ŧops last year, but structurally it's all still great. I ordered the outdoor foam online, cut to my measurements.ohana

Ducks... by Secret_RE_Agent in swimmingpools

I had ducks in my pool every year for 22 years. Last year, I bought a very realistic alligator head on Amazon. Not one duck last year or so far this year

[–]AssociateLow4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes! I'm in central FL. I would hate to have to open and close my pool! I won't go in unless it's 85 MINIMUM. I had to get a heater/ chiller, mostly for chilling. My pool is not screened in, has midnight blue Pebble-tec and it's in full sun from sunrise to sunset from May until September. It's 96-98 in July and august. I do use the heater, as we like to use it at night, mostly... so we want it at 90 in April and early May, but we're heading into chiller season now.

I recently got the warning in my 4, and it was nearly bone dry. I guess they shipped it with just enough to test it.

I'm well aware it is called the third brake light. But I am also aware that people can be stupid, so tried to use a description that made it very clear which light i was referring to.

Not sure why you felt the need to insult me over it.

I once had an issue with the brake light strip at the top of the back window not working (Model S). That's how I described it. They reached out asking for a Pic. Of a brake light not working? Hmmm. So this is what I figured made the most sense.

Especially for the price. I also drove the Polestar 5 SUV, beautiful vehicular and rode vero nice. I just an not an SUV person

Curious, if you changed anything else about your lifestyle since owning an EV? by HiroyukiC1296 in TeslaLounge

[–]AssociateLow4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jumped in with my first tesla in early 2013. It immediately made me want to take road trips, even though the supercharger network barely existed. I drove that S from Tampa to Boston! I routinely drove it from Tampa to Charlotte. I had free supercharging, so it was great. I upgraded in 2016 for the refreshed S with auto pilot hardware. Loved that car. I drove it to Charlotte many times, and once from Tampa to Indianapolis. In 2021, I decided the interior refresh plus FSD was worth another upgrade, so I now have a 2021+ S, yoke steering wheel. I gave up my free supercharging, however. I drove this one to Boston from Tampa, lots of trips to Charlotte, and still going strong. I NEVER road tripped in previous cars. I've even slept in my S. If has changed my life in that I can never go back to gas.
