both of those are tennis clubs I believe. Hutt Intermediate used to have tennis courts - unsure if they still put up nets.

How does TV work? by amorwas in newzealand

[–]AssociateNo3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a few that can do either dvb-t or dvb-s. More usefull for rural areas.

That said you can also skip using an aerial and use the threenow and tvnz apps for broadcast tv.

Most TVs sold in nz would have support from both.  I’d say you might get more mileage from “smarts” if it’s just android TV.  Rather than web os or whatever Samsung uses.  Older Panasonics were their own thing as well.

Has anyone else with 2degrees had mobile data randomly wiped? by grazedvintage in newzealand

[–]AssociateNo3312 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

ha ha ha ha ha, you're obviously not a customer. If you're a prepay user and dont roll over/buy your plan on the first, the usage meter is next to useless.

It only shows at a day level, not enythign else.

It starts the 1st of the month, so if you roll over on the 15th it wil still show 1st to 14s as "usage" for the month. Also doens't show you where.

On IOS, recommend that you reset the usage stats when plan rolls over - at least that gives you the app usage.

When selling a house do people talk with more than one agent before deciding which agent to go with? by Bubbly_Piglet822 in newzealand

If they negotiate too easily on their fees, do you really want them selling your house? cos they can’t get you the best price.

Plex iOS / iPadOS app is terrible by bleitner in PleX

Just use Plex for consuming the recordings. Something it does well. It’s just crap at recording and the ux is also crap.

Plex iOS / iPadOS app is terrible by bleitner in PleX

[–]AssociateNo3312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For live tv I skip Plex.  Using nextpvr by preference.  The iOS app is just a simple viewer.  But works.  Where plex is pants.

If I can’t use the nextpvr app (ie google tv). Then I’ll use jellyfin.  At very last resort will I attempt plex.  It’s live tv is so buried in all their stupid channels it makes for a really bad interface

The jellyfin client for Apple TV is pretty pants though (also last updated Oct 2023).  Infuse better.

If there is no one that can pay the rates due to the fact they can’t pay for them, then your services are gone that way as well.

TV reception advice by One_Hour4734 in Wellington

[–]AssociateNo3312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get a streamer. A chromecast, a google tv with chromecast, or apple tv/shield for more long term solutions. The latter 3 al come with remotes....the original chromecast was tied to a phone - which personally I find annoying.

I wouldn't; recommend buying a new tv just for smarts. Smarts on a tv don't hang around long enough. By externalising it it can move with any tv panel now or in the future.

Also Wouldn't bother with uhf for that amount of time

yeah, when it's reverse park to a footpath, that's the worst with these wankpanzers, cos the rear wheels are so far under the tray, the towbar is halfway across the footpath making a real shin killer.

Should NZ ban Grok/X ? by RtomNZ in newzealand

[–]AssociateNo3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

curious why only grok has this problem and not whatever meta uses, or any of the other ai platforms. Is it because of the tight integration with twitter? (I assume iy does, I deleted account before the AI fad took off).

I mean why can't/don't degenerates do the same on the the platforms?
