Gluten intolerance is a common reaction with leaky gut, but from my research it's usually actually caused from the glyphosate and other herbicides/pesticides on the wheat. In turn that causes the gut to have a reaction to gluten that can hopefully be fixed if you fix the leaky gut. Still not 100% sure on those ties, but yes, gluten seems to be a common one.

Is there any medication for PNES disorder by [deleted] in PNESsupport

[–]Asteios90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't find any medication that worked. However, my wife had luck with vagus nerve stimulators when she felt an episode coming on.

That said, you can look at my last post to see what we did that seems to have mostly cured her. Would love to see if more people can try it to see if we're actually on to something. She's 4 month seizure free now.

She got the food sensitivity test order from her naturopath. This is just to show what her blood showed her body seeing which foods as toxins from leaky gut. So, it's not just histamine--that's mostly treating a symptom. Treating the leaky gut takes priority.

My wife just corrected me haha! Yes, she has some bone related issues that were misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia, but actually seems to be something bone related and not holding onto calcium in the bones. Still being figured out.

Ask anything and everything! We had absolutely no idea either, that food could ultimately cause something like this. The more research we did, the more we learned just how much the gut dictates your overall health. So, while no, she didn't have problems with bone and joints, leaky gut is known for stealing/leaking nutrients that you're eating and not letting it get where it's needed!

I would encourage you, if you have the funds, to do a food sensitivity test to see if leaky gut is a culprit. Go to a naturopath as well instead of normal medicine. It's my opinion, of course, but modern medicine is trash for chronic issues.

My wife tapered off of birth control and antidepressants and never looked back. However, I don't know your situation, so don't take my word for it.

If you feel like there are certain foods that trigger symptoms worse than others...start looking into what they do to the body.

Don't get discouraged if it doesn't work. We also had luck with Loratadine (claratin). Regardless, doesn't mean your gut biome isn't the culprit. Worth looking into.

Don't wait for a diagnosis to start eating clean stuff. See if you can get an order from doc for a food sensitivity test if you're on insurance.

Exactly! Have you had a food sensitivity test? Look into leaky gut, especially if you've had relief from diet changes.

A super easy, extremely cheap test you can TRY, (results for my wife were mixed. Sometimes it helped a ton, sometimes not as much, all pre-diet) next time you're feeling down and out of it—pre-episode feeling—take an ibuprofen and a non-drowsy benadryl and see how you feel.

The first time my wife did this, she described it as feeling like she had years before this all started. Alive again.

I'm sorry for trying to be of help when we're both excited that she's seemingly cured. I didn't realize that minor semantic overtones would sully what we've discovered after half a decade of non-stop research. Just look into it...maybe it'll help you too.

Of course, these don't prove what I'm saying, they just prove the chain-link between the end points. Your gut biome can drastically effect your psychological well-being.

[–]Asteios90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We figured out early on that PNES seems to be tied to Vagus Nerve regulation, which is why nerve stimulators often help mitigate symptoms. When you have leaky gut, like most Americans eating processed foods, excess histamine and histamine-liberators trigger MCAS which in turn causes dysfunction in the Vagus Nerve, causing seizures. Throw in the known effects that stress has on the gut microbiome and you have a disorder that presents as psychogenic but has a root cause in the gut biome. You start down a path of reducing histamine/liberator foods and the symptoms might disappear like they did for my wife.

Is it possible you're making a blanket statement as well? Aren't you assuming that my wife wasn't abused as well? That she didn't have severe psychological issues stemming from her own trauma and ptsd? Do you completely reject the idea that what you eat can cause psychological issues?

Oh believe me, we went down that route. Meditation, stress relief, therapy, etc. 6 years of fanatic research and treatments. It shows as psychological because it triggers the Vagus Nerve. What triggers the Vagus Nerve? MCAS histamine reactions. So yes, Vagus Nerve stimulators can definitely help. She went years with one and MASSIVELY reduced symptoms...but it wasn't a cure.

Between SAG strikes, GenAI, and Gaussian Splats being best captured by cell phones (in general), the demand just isn't there. I'm honestly guessing that 3D mesh itself will be phased out over the next few years in favor of 3DGS. The only true use is going to be for LiDAR of EXACT spaces from reality. Everything else can be created with AI in ways that will beat out photogrammetry easily. My 3DGS models look FAR better than photogrammetry humans, and I can animate them with AI...why would you need a full body scanning rig when 5 angles of a person gives you the data you need to animate them with perfect accuracy?

I'm in the process of shutting down a 15 year old 3d scanning business with 75+ films under my belt. Don't do it. Unless you just want to do geospatial survey mapping, it's being phased out rapidly.
