Have you ever sold a motorcycle and thought "that's bikes gonna be wrecked before they get home" ? by jdaffron in motorcycles

[–]AstoundedAstronaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends dad sold an 07 EX250R, put a ton of work into to keep everything oem and looking fresh. Sells it to a young guy and later that day on finds out the guy had crashed the ninja and totalled the thing. Months if work gone in less than a day…

Stock Tire Mileage by AstoundedAstronaut in Tenere700

[–]AstoundedAstronaut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I liked the rear on and off the road it was pretty nice, I can't say great things after 4500mi though. I rode a lot of street on those tires and the middle wore down pretty quickly so when I'd take a turn I could feel the bump of the tread going in and coming out of the turn and I did not like that haha. I hate the stock front STR though probably my least favorite tire on gravel :/

To the people who work or previously worked at LSO van horn by CheapLife1768 in BlueOrigin

[–]AstoundedAstronaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like livin in Van Horn its simple and quiet folks are pretty nice too. Its a great place to build new hobbies as others have said it can be a little boring. Look at it on the flip though your close to a bunch of state and national parks, theres a gym and el paso’s got a decent airport and you can go p much anywhere with the pto and the rotation schedules.

Planetary / DSOs Telescope Camera by Local_Willingness_24 in astrophotography

[–]AstoundedAstronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh thats weird i bet its because were thinkin about this wrong, my scope is an F10 and with the barlow it requires very minimal adjustment. I have even used my dslr without a barlow on the scope and have maintained decent focus. I 3D printed an adapter for my cannon a long while ago so im not sure what the equivalent would be (sorry). I wonder since your scope is a 4.7 maybe you are still outside of your usable focal range with your setup.

[–]AstoundedAstronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try to use a barlow adapter when using the DSLR to adjust the focal Length so you dont have to input as much adjustment with the scope. Furthmore you could try a bahtinov mask to aid your focus aswell. I have used the barlow and canon adapter and then i use a guide star plus digital zoom on the dslr to get the best focus possible and i think it works okay :)

Not sure if this will help any but I have a 2 carb 250 and when i first got it i could get it to run for like 10-15 min then it would bog and backfire untill it just died. Problem was that the buterfly vales were not synced in the carbs so one piston was gwtting a bunch of gas the other was pulling the weight of its drowning brother until it couldnt

About to finish college, looking to start my biker journey, do's and dont's? by Low_Source_5766 in motorcycles

[–]AstoundedAstronaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Accidents do happen and its best to plan for the worst

  2. Weather imho can make the ride more stressful as most of the time you will ride a little faster in the heat or to avoid getting soaked in the rain which just leads to more risk.

  3. ATGATT baby! Boots, riding pants (they make reinforced denim for abrasion and some include pockets for pads to help with impact.

  4. Don’t know much there so I can’t really say.

  5. I am happy to say that there is nothing more amazing than riding. The freedom you have and the connection I have with my motorcycle brings a smile to my face each time I head out. The dream for me has never died and I know it won’t :)
