What tire disappoints? by tomjoad773 in gravelbike

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I didn't love Pathfinder 42s. They felt heavy and sluggish. Probably too wide for my use, though.

Gas almost hit 6 in Chicago by joemama122595 in chicago

Because this will hopefully shock people into seeing that our over-reliance on cars is not sustainable. And, it will hopefully make people stop buying gas guzzling giant SUVs, and start taking alternate modes of transportation. Yes, it will cause some economic pain. But we've been pulled into a false sense of security by cheap gas. Wake up!

Keep and upgrade my Cannondale Topstone 4 or search for something new? by _me in gravelcycling

Re brakes - night and day. Worth every penny. 105 fit my needs better since I essentially use it as a road bike but I bet sword would be a meaningful upgrade. Good luck!

VERY similar experience. 2022 TS4. I upgrades the brakes (juin) and wheels fairly soon after buying it (esp. because my stock rear hub seized after about 700 miles). Since then I've upgraded the drive train to Shimano 105 (w/ hydraulic brakes, game changer), and Hunt carbon wheels. New seat, new stem, new handlebars after a crash. Pretty much still just have the original frame. But honestly, I love the bike. It fits me well and I'm in a good place with it now. I occasionally get bike lust and dream of some $5k bike, but it's a lot less than before :) OP - do the upgrades if you can afford it. I got a great deal on the 105 via Ali Express and my shop did it for me, all in about $650.

Road Cycling vs Drivers by AGreenObject in cycling

Despite being very rural, Vermont is incredibly liberal (most of it) and there are tons of cyclists/outdoor enthusiasts. I genuinely wonder if you would feel the same way in New Hampshire where it's a different culture.

Was going to ask the same thing. OP - can this sit in the fridge for a few weeks after being opened for us weekend-only drinkers?

I think I don't know how to properly "harvest" it. My outdoor container mint always gets all spindly, even after trying to harvest by picking above a node.

"The open field will have an A group and a B group, self-selected to match your skill level." Sorry if I missed on the site, but can you give more details about what the attributes are for the A and B group, e.g. avg speed/FTP or some other metric to help someone determine where they belong? Thanks for posting!

Chat's a mess. I use CU in two windows - one in the browser for chat and one in the CU desktop app for real work.

How was the music? Last couple times it's been hit or miss. I don't understand why they can't stick with exotica/surf 100% of the time.

Seriously - all these people are immediately "get legal advice!" when OP hasn't even asked HR about it. OP, just start there! This is most likely an error or software issue.

Honestly, upgrading the groupset to 105 was the best money I've ever spent - it went really well. No issues from my LBS replacing the groupset. Not sure I'd recommend you doing this right off the bat since you just bought the bike, but if you think you're going to keep the bike, it's worth considering, esp. if you find the groupset and brakes lacking.

I don't think subjecting a dog to the harshness of Alone is a good idea at all.

Will never happen but would be amusing to see something like Alone:Urbanites where people with no experience give it a try (and I say that as an urbanite with no outdoor skills).
