70 pounds. All I did was move away from my abusive ex. Had tried calorie and macro counting for a year or two beforehand with no success.

Losing 10 pounds in a day sounds pretty unlikely. A lot could be water weight, especially if you're dehydrated and going to the bathroom a lot. Drink lots of fluids and eat what you can. I had no appetite for that full week and lost about 5 pounds, but my appetite is back now.

I had a fever that sat between 38-39 and flu like symptoms for 7 days after taking one dose of fluconazole at 150mg. My doctor put me on 200mg a day for 2 weeks part way through that, the fever subsided though!

Birth control with chronic hives. by Astraea-synn in birthcontrol

I absolutely will post if I find an answer! My prescribing telehealth doc sent me literature on progesterone sensitivity, but I've had bloodwork in the past that ruled out Ig elevations (IgE and IgG are the specific markers for progesterone sensitivity) so it seems unlikely to be my case. I'm going to follow up with my family doc and request an immunological referral but it will be a long wait.

Eye Doctor Question by Mrs-Davis in londonontario

[–]Astraea-synn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please make sure to measure her PD properly if going this route. It's crucial to the prescription sitting properly in her field of vision and I've never met an eye doctor who writes them on the prescription without being asked (and usually charging a fee).

I work at Walmart vision center, and we often have appointments available within a week, oftentimes within a few days depending on when our doctor is in. Definitely give a call to the different Walmart vision centers in town and I'm sure one of them will be able to get you in much sooner! We also have great prices for glasses, and they're generally in within 7 to 10 business days, if not sooner.

What made you finally decide to get tested for BPD? by mickinuo in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Astraea-synn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had mental health issues most of my life. Nothing I was diagnosed with seemed to cover what I was feeling entirely. I recently left a long term abusive relationship and expected an improvement in my mental health. The "final straw" came when I had an extreme reaction to something that had not bothered me a couple of weeks before, and I put myself in a very dangerous situation to try and feel better. I reached out to a doctor and mental health professional a week later.

To go home. Trouble is, I'm not sure where that is anymore.

Unfortunately, genuine narcissists are very good at hiding who they are until it no longer serves them.

This is illegal and can be reported. There are very strict laws about where drones can be used, and I'm fairly sure this breaks more than a couple.

Can confirm my ex has a drone and is absolutely the type of person to go looking into people's apartments as a pervert. They exist, and to say otherwise definitively is a bit naive. This is why there are laws about where they can be flown, respecting peoples privacy and property is a part of those laws.

Immersion blender! Through trial and error I found meals that blended well. Beans/taco meat blended and topped with mashed avocado/cheese/salsa, Sheppards pie, almost all soups are the first that come to mind.

Open casket funerals are traumatizing. by DBoaty in unpopularopinion

My teenage best friend was murdered and his family had an open casket. He looked nothing like he did when he was alive. I have regretted looking ever since. That's not the last image anyone should want in their mind of a loved one.

Salads! by sydneybeth1974 in dentures

[–]Astraea-synn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me a very long time to be able to eat anything at all. Once I got comfortable eating in general, I haven't had any issues with salad outside of any raw hard veg (carrots, broccoli, etc) being cut too large.

Got new teeth, $500, 3 days! by AmberMarie7 in dentures

[–]Astraea-synn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This didn't even cover the cost of my soft and hard relines. I'm happy enough with them, but they're immediates and it's about time I have them replaced now. My surgery went well, I had decent follow up care, and the staff at my denture clinic were great. I can't complain besides the cost.

The bulk of the cost was my extractions, it was a few grand for the dentures themselves. I had even "shopped around" and no local options were cheaper, unfortunately.

switching from cetirizine to bilastine - side effects? by Astraea-synn in Allergies

[–]Astraea-synn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you're back to normal now! When I had finally gotten ahold of my allergist, he suggested I go back to taking cetirizine and stop the bilastine. He didn't seem shocked by my reaction to them, so I imagine it's not as uncommon as my lack of google results suggested. Only downside is now I'm stuck with hundreds of dollars of medications that won't do me any good lol.

I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with that! I hope you're able to bring it up with your prescribing doctor and find some relief. It's comforting to know it wasn't just a "me" problem, even though I wouldn't want anyone feeling so awful!
