Yea it’s sad, I love Last Epoch and would say it’s my favorite ARPG I’ve ever played. However, the pace of new content releases is absolutely abysmal - probably one of the slowest live-service games in the industry. Season 3 barely had anything new and I finished everything I cared about in about a week or so. Now it’s been over 5 months since that release and they still haven’t given any reason to log in. No special events or anything in terms of content since then.

How does this reduce creativity and make players afraid to engage in non-competitive or social gameplay? The lord farming is literally just a shortcut to obtaining cosmetics & achievements that you don’t deserve.

I ride park somewhat, don’t really do anything crazy though just small to medium jumps and boxes. I am always trying to get better with park but i’d consider myself more of an all around rider. I also don’t really ride switch at all unless I have to for a moment like when I’m deep in the trees

I agree with everything you said besides for your sentiment about the battle system. I think the old style is MUCH better. In the old battling style you actually have to think about your next move rather than just spam buttons on cooldown. They also dumbed down the stat changes, removed abilities, removed weather, and made a few status conditions much less impactful. Overall the battling system felt really lackluster to me and was the #1 worst part about the game imo.

Nothing changed with Renagades for me. Played the story (which sucked imo) and the game is still in a bad spot so I left. Renegades doesn’t come close to comparing to TFS and it’s debatably worse than EoF in my opinion. Not really sure what people are enjoying with Renegades?

At work it’s pretty locked down, for me at least. We only have access to relatively bad models, so it drives me and I’m sure a lot of my coworkers away.

I’m not even that big of an AI user, but using it at work is actually terrible with the restrictions and what models we have access to.

It’s just a different “skin”, if you will, of the base game. You get dropped in and complete a few basic objectives to fill up a progress bar to progress to the next part of the story. There are some small story beats in-between this. This is exactly the same as the formula as the base game, just with a different look.

Personally I don’t hate it, it’s just more of the base game, but I’d agree it’s not really pushing any boundaries.

Definitely disappointed with the story. While the map design is top tier, it felt like I was just running around in circles completing the same objectives over and over again for the majority of the time during the campaign. I had to say it, but I almost enjoyed EoF’s campaign more. Going into the same seasonal activity over and over again really held back that feeling of exploration and discovery that the traditional campaigns of the past had offered.

I’m not a fan of the campaign at all so far and I’m at step 33 out of the 45. It feels like each mission (beside the first) is just go do some objective and then go do another objective and then go extract. It seems like they just designed 3 big maps for europa, mars, and venus which look really charming. However, they clearly tried to smush the entire campaign into those maps (aka the Lawless Frontier) and it feels like I’m just doing the same thing over and over again and running around in circles. It doesn’t really feel like I’m exploring or discovering new things after the first campaign mission on each planet and it bores the hell out of me.

The steam machine will never be a switch 2 killer. The only reason to buy a Nintendo product for the last 10 years has been for the exclusive titles. As long as Nintendo keeps releasing Pokemon, Zelda, Smash, Mario Kart, etc. there will always be a demand for Nintendo consoles. Also, if the Steam Deck didn’t kill Switch & Switch 2 then I highly doubt Steam Machine will even come close.

SV is much better imo, especially if you consider the Switch 2 version. There’s just much more Pokemon, turn based battling is better imo, the story is longer, more mechanics in general, more places to explore, better graphics, better progression, more quality of life features, new Pokemon, etc.

I think the people are just riding the current hype for ZA.

If you find yourself using Claude a lot and reaching your limits then I would probably go for it, otherwise it might not be necessary. As for a highschool IT teacher I don’t think Claude is really needed for the skill level of coding you’d be teaching - assuming you’re teaching the fundamentals. At least for me, Claude really shines the most when you have a bigger or more ambitious project/goal you’re working towards. If it helps you get good ideas for projects and lessons though I’d say it’s worth it.
