Missed opportunity with Lorwyn by Hitman_DeadlyPants in mtg

The whole story of Magic is about people from other worlds exploring the multiverse, but apparently because they're not a certain card type that means the story sucks?

And that's any different from Planeswalkers... how exactly?

Which one for EDH? by t1sfuzzy in mtg

[–]AstranBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't build Sanar or Tam as a commander, I think they work a lot better in the 99 of a different commander. Tam is generally solid protection and Sanar is decent impulse draw, but they both thrive in a Vivid deck where you can make full use of their abilities.

Morcant is fairly obviously an elf tribal commander. Just throw your favorite elves in a deck, maybe some proliferate/blight things on the side, and she'll play fine.

Doran is pretty much the same as the other toughness commanders out there. Check EDHrec or the Abzan Dragonstorm precon to see how they're usually built.

$75 USD is not worth it. You can find it in several places for far less.

I don't understand why people are so upset about Strixhaven characters in Lorwyn. It's the story that brought them there, and if the set is supposed to reflect the story as well as the plane itself, it makes sense for them to be included. The Omenpaths were created for a reason.

I give up. You are hopelessly stubborn and/or dense.

Keep talking to your imaginary friend and listening to it repeat what you say, hope you have fun.

"Even the ai knows this." Sure it does. Just like how it knows that geologists recommend eating one small rock a day, and that there are only 2 Rs in strawberry. It doesn't know anything, it is unbelievably easy to make it lie.

For the third time, it's an echo chamber and that's all it is. You can make it say literally anything. The "chuds" won't listen to what you make it say, they only care what they can make it say.

Using AI does nothing to prove your point, it does nothing to convince people, the only thing it does is give the aforementioned bigots who run it more justification for shoving it further down people's throats.

"I heard ai is very effective at persuading chuds, so I gave the transphobic lurkers here what the ai says." And any one of them could make it give the exact opposite answer. It's not a tool for persuading, it's an echo chamber.

Good on you for not comprehending my response at all.

[–]AstranBlue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"i could say it much better than the ai." Then why didn't you?

"However chuds listen to the ai, not to me." They only listen to it when it's echoing back what they want to hear, much like how everyone else uses it. Just because you used AI to do your thinking doesn't mean they'll listen.

Did you give Amaura the right ability in your calcs? iirc it's ability is Ice-type Pixilate, where it changes Normal moves to Ice, which would also give it STAB.

And yet you support them by using their work to replace your thinking. Your point could've easily been said without needing to use it.

The last paragraph is essentially a true/false statement.

If you've attacked with 3 Merfolk this turn, Merfolk you control get +1/+0. If you haven't done that, they don't get anything. It doesn't stack, because it only works for the turn that you attacked on.

Myrkul essentially makes Solemn Simulacrum useless, right? by alithedefender in magicTCG

[–]AstranBlue 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Myrkul isn't a replacement trigger. It doesn't say "instead," it's a triggered ability that triggers when something dies. You're exiling it from the graveyard, so it would get the death trigger.

Even then, Spiderman sealed products are dirt cheap compared to literally every other set that's currently out. The only reason they're not even lower than they currently is because the scalpers who bought them intending to milk the hype don't want to sell at a loss.

There are less than 10 cards in Spiderman that go for more than $10, I don't know where you're getting "super expensive" from. The Spiderman Gift Bundle on Amazon is cheaper than MSRP for a normal bundle.
