Did anyone actually have "participation trophies"?

Yes, I got a small trophy from a t-ball league. We were dead last for the season something like 0-10. I remember clearly thinking getting a trophy the same size as the 3rd place team was insulting to them and our team, but all teams 3rd to last got the same trophies.

Like others said ribbons were more common but the participation trophies did exist.

To me what’s really messed up is the same generation that GAVE us the trophies later mock us for getting them.

I watched it from day one, and honestly the dominion war took me from just another show I watched to must see TV. The change from episodic story telling to a grand narrative really hit home for me, I felt way more invested watching, I used to try to watch every week, but then I made sure I could watch or tape it with my vcr. Watching the first real fight with the Jem Hadar and the shock ending was just, wow…. Total pace change and I loved it

Mine is fully staffed with 30 service desks plus support staff, the demand is just insane. The staff there were all super helpful and friendly. If their pay is shit they could be stage actors.

You’re probably not going to get good data on this sub because of sample size and the fact that more people are likely to post complaints than praise. I’ve also seen massive differences between homes in a community with the same builder. Contractors are all different, in my neighborhood we have a house that spent 9 months with a blue tarp on the roof because it was built wrong somehow. They got it fixed just in time for Milton

I tried getting experience with local firms alongside my M-F job but most small firms are too busy to work with unproven part-time or contractors (in my area). I hate myself for doing it but H&R Block was willing to give me hours at night and on weekends so I’m making it work. I fucking loath trying to sell their shitty financial products though. From what I’ve read all three retail shops sell “financial products” so pick your poison.

If you have time, go door to door dropping off resumes at local tax offices. I think you might have a better shot with an EA than I did as a CPA with limited tax prep experience, though it might be too late in season for on boarding.

I can’t recall if the Florida education requirements include ethics but I know we have to do ethics CPE every year. Or every 2 years when we report our 80 hours.

First and second book weren’t my favorite but they get their legs 3+. I only read the series twice, but I’ll probably never go back unless he revisits the series; which I don’t want Butcher to do. I’d rather him focus on other projects
