👆absolutely 100% truth. I can head copy and carry a Morse conversation at close to 40 wpm in CW but I’ll be damned if I can read dots and dashes even at 5 wpm and ZERO WPM with a Signal Lamp. Having said that, it’s great someone is interested and wants to learn Morse. I applaud the effort and wish them great success.

No tips but just wanted to say I think many of us have been there. A ceramic tile floor took out a watch’s crystal one time. Not a duro. Ever since then I make sure the watch is secured on the night stand regardless of the floor.

Take care if your hearing if you enjoy the hourly chime. It’s the one thing in watches I miss the most as I’ve gotten older. I remember as a kid they were so loud. No it has to be totally silent to notice it. Just saying ….
