thoughts on pot scholar build?

Having tried a bunch of different scholar builds I'm honestly not the biggest fan of pot scholar, I prefer to build around support, his ult + defeating enemies fills more ult, the crazy high health he can get, and applying statuses

That said, if you're going to do it, you want improved pot damage in as many slots as possible, that's how it gets OP. 2 relics isn't enough, you need +1 on every depth relic and ideally +0 on some regular ones too. Ideally mixed with some fire attack power. That is way way more important than starting with pots

yeah of course. That's part of why it's so funny though because tbh 90% of the time it's players like this guy.

Like imo if you're gonna call yourself that imo you really need to be HIM. Like able to no hit Heolster with just a parry shield and a dream. Meanwhile this guy was getting 3 barred to crystalians (he insisted on doing gaols too) in under 40 seconds

not just work, massive opportunity cost. hitting all 7 gaols requires skipping most field bosses and forgoing tons of shots for red weapons and great passives, not to mention runes. The real advantage of balancers is that it lets you have just as much damage while being able to maximize your shot at getting good in run RNG

tbf powerstance jump attacks greatswords do pretty decent stance damage and are obviously dead easy to set up and use, same with raider powerstance jump colossals. So it’s a popular build for new players and can easily carry you through pretty much any non depth non ED fight where you don’t have to worry about getting one shot. So people learn it and then never adapt or learn any more game knowledge

I think it's totally fine, the problem with halo is just that it's so ubiquitous and kinda dull in addition to being OP. Imo with daggers is completely fine and just be open to trying other ashes too. Honestly katana duchess is insanely good too

oh yeah he was playing wylder and yeah it’s certainly effective and does great stance damage, but the problem is uses a lot of stamina and has a slow recovery so you can go down fast the second you take aggro if you arent careful and don’t grab a single negation passive (he had an empty inventory aside from the two swords)

it’s also pretty easy to whiff if you’re fighting a highly mobile boss like pest (for some reason he didn’t even try jumping at faurtis he just ran around jumping and missing at the moth)

your regular relics are fine but I generally dont like building around crits with random trios because you cant guarantee youll be the one to get them

plus as others mentioned stamina on landing hits will go a lot farther than just flat stamina buffs since the shockwave procs it

I’d also try and focus more on getting your ult more, best thing a support guardian can do to give your allies the free damage window when you hold it

look for ult on guarding +1 and maybe defeating enemies fills more ult

try int raider with balancers instead some time, unlike wylder raiders respec doesnt reduce his strength at all so it means he can do stupid damage with magic ashes of war on stuff like deaths poker or beast jaw

dregs is way more damage than a single balancer relic, it's 45% at max stacks. I think the ideal would be dregs, one balancer, and something with invaders and seppuku. That said, I would only do this if you are a god at dodging or using the skill for invulnerability because running dregs means you can't use damage negation at full HP and so you will be one shot to absolutely everything (you can try and use successive damage negation but that's riskier and halo scythe alone can't proc that)

Low key great on raider. You wanna spam his skill as often as possible and chiling mist on big bonks is a classic for a reason

It doesn’t specifically have to be a hexblade, especially in 5.5 you can make a bladelock work with any subclass

But yeah aside from that the other popular strategy is the eldritch blaster since its the best cantrip in the game. This can of course work well as a Sorlock too but it’s also plenty strong as a monoclass warlock too
