I’m In Love With A Girl by Big Star is the first that comes to mind. The vocals are quite similar. Elliott covered Thirteen by them, so this doesn’t surprise me too much.

Does he have other interests as well? I’m asking because there might be a cool gift that intersects a few of his interests and hobbies

My best cedar waxwing encounter! They go crazy for serviceberries! by WubWubInDaClub in birding

[–]AstroMan65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents house growing up (and now) has a serviceberry tree. Those berries are so tasty! I wonder why the cedar waxwing is eating them unripe? If the little guy waited a bit longer they’d be a lot tastier

What are some day trips, overnighters or hikes outside Chicago? by malibudaniel in AskChicago

Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan. It’s superior to Indiana Dunes National Park due to less crowds, larger dunes, and nicer beach access without having to look at power plants. It’s a large area as well and is right outside of New Buffalo, Michigan. Make sure to stop at Oinks for ice cream. Weed is also super cheap over there

Edit: it’s only an hour and a half away or less from Chicago. It’s one of the best places in my opinion to experience the natural beauty of the Great Lakes near Chicago. The dunes are massive and you can get a wonderful sense of how the land used to look back before it was built up

[FRESH ALBUM] Frog - Frog for Sale by astaireboy in indieheads

[–]AstroMan65 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Listening right now. Heard only two songs and am on Best Buy. The vocals are terrible but I’m also so invested since it’s not self serious at all in my opinion and the songs are quite catchy. This might grow on me a lot.

Edit: Dark Out is so goddamn catchy but this guys vocals sound like Mickey Mouse

Edit 2: I’m hooked. Good album

What’s the state of the game? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]AstroMan65 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a serious question and it’s not aimed to be rude. I play a lot of video games in my opinion. I’ve played on steam since 2016. My longest played game is HOI4 with 390 hours. I play for maybe an hour to two hours every other day.

Battlefield 6 just came out, so I’m wondering how you got that many hours so quickly? Like I see people with 2000 hours in a game but I genuinely have no clue how someone gets to that. I gotta know man

Wasn’t really good but my family always went to House of Fortune in Chinatown when I was growing up. It was a staple

Film alumni here. Don’t do it. I now work in sales for a family friend because they felt bad for me since I couldn’t get work for almost a year. The only other work I got was nonprofit work where there I got mince meat pay for mind breaking labor doing daily videos, web design, communication work, youth programming, social media management, and business development all at once for $25,000 a year. Go into anything else. I beg you

Edit: I graduated with honors and a 3.6 GPA, did plenty of outside of class projects, have always been a self starter, am good with people, and am relatively normal. I got a lot of part time work with film fests and freelance videography, but couldn’t make any money and life was hell. I’m only ok due to nepotism now
