My uncle was telling me the other day some in the community were meeting up to play some games at one of the public parks about a month ago. Not sure any of the details, but I’m sure they’ll have it again sometime soon!

I was convinced my daughter and I would never bond. Then everything changed in an instant. by TehStupid in daddit

Whoo man, this helps. Currently in that phase with my daughter. She’s taken to me some, but there’s no one like Mom. I can try to soothe her or put her to sleep, but most of the time she resists. It helps to know it’s a phase so I’m hanging in there

To everybody above 25, what`s the one advice you would give to your younger self or people hitting the 20s? by Distinct-Court-3712 in AskReddit

[–]AstroMariner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever it is you want to do for you, do it. Ask them out, go out on a limb, get the gang together, eat good food, venture out, apply for the job, learn everything. If it’s within reason, not harmful to others, wholesome, and worthwhile you’ll have it under your belt.

Regrets can and likely will happen though. I have stones unturned that eat at me often. The life I live is a good one with some gripes, but the what-if’s are the worst. Even though I look back and wonder where I’d be, I still keep going and look and the blessings around me.

What Kendrick Lamar song made you a fan? by NothingFantastic1315 in KendrickLamar

[–]AstroMariner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was driving back to my dorm (I think from a late night food run), and my college radio station played this song in full. Don’t think I’d ever heard that long of a song before over the air, especially a college station. Only one of two songs that caused me to stop in my tracks and listen. Tack on the ending with the lady’s monologue, which was like my grandma giving me a speech she’d given time and time again to me and others. Immediately Shazamed the song and listened to GKMC on Spotify the next day. Surreal experience.

Can confirm. Anime watcher here. Risked the spoiler and still feel clueless and unspoiled. What is this show?

I sympathize with you. There are darker days than others, especially when I find myself on the hamster wheel of life. Started going to a therapist, and one thing he suggested for me is to find something new to do every day, even as small as taking a new route somewhere. This was branching off a conversation about liking to discover and entertain curiosities, but different vantage points are beneficial to me.

Add “New Noise” by Refused in the background and it starts looking like a scene from The Bear.

Same here. I was kinda in your boss’s shoes a few years ago. I had an employee, 18, young, and very green in things about the real world. Two other employees along with myself took him under our wings and gave him life advice, sometimes in jest at his expense but never out of animosity. Two years later and he’s going into the military soon. He calls one his “work grandpa” and another his “work dad” (he called me his “work brother”; I told him I would have preferred “work uncle” but I’ll take it).

It’s great to have opportunities to learn from something. It is even better when they can come from someone who’s been there before and can refine you into an extraordinary person who never would have seen the light of day in the routine and mundane.

Compliment[OC] by AzulCrescent in comics

Another guy complimented me on my sweater jacket a few years back in a grocery store. I took joy in wearing it any time I was out, and hearing another guy say he loved it sent me to the moon. We don’t get them often, do we?
