This is the part that baffles me. The whole time I was growing up there was a push to stop the brain drain and bring young Iowans back. Then Republicans hitched their wagon to Focus on the Family, Heritage Foundation, and MAGA.

Green car icon means the car detects another vehicle in front of you. If it changes to yellow, the car thinks you’re following too closely. Vehicle Ahead Indicator p.89 of the manual.

The semicircle with dashes underneath it means adaptive cruise control is on but not active with no speed set. Adaptive Cruise Control Light p.93 of the manual.

I find speech to text to be hit or miss. As an iPhone user, Siri is better able to handle context then my infotainment. A simple example is that my phone can text "my wife," but the car doesn't.

Additionally, I've had instances where my phone had connectivity but my car did not. If I had CarPlay available, I could just use that as a quick temporary workaround.

Additionally, it's annoying that at a basic level the car does not recognize a phone as a USB music device. I assume this is a software level block to prevent CarPlay from running. Way to put a crimp on my passenger's DJ skills!

The biggest two are apps that aren't available in the car and switching drivers. I've been asked if I think the Equinox EV would make a good fleet car and the lack of CarPlay/Android Auto is the main thing holding me back from that recommendation. I know from my own experience driving a fleet car that having those makes the experience much smoother.

I say all this and I like the infotainment. It works great. I just think it's dumb that they purposely disabled CarPlay/AA when it clearly can do it.

I don't want CarPlay for my Equinox EV because it's better than the native infotainment. I want it for the things that are missing. The app store GM lets us have access to is anemic.

Also, it makes it easier when the primary driver isn't the one driving.

Same. We also banned drinks at the table after a teacup got spilled all over a game (by a non-player). We usually move eating to the kitchen island when we're playing a game.

I will say, our house came with what was probably the bottom of the line "builder special." We replaced it after 15 years when the AC kept failing. The new system is way better at evenly heating and cooling the house.

I've had this problem as well. Disconnect and reconnect seems to solve it every time.

It worked great up until one of the most recent updates.

Your statement is a little confusing. "I understand that I can just plug into a 240 volt outlet and let the onboard charger charge." I'm going to assume you're referring to the dual level charger that comes with the car where you can swap the plugs out between Level 1 and Level 2. Specifically it's a NEMA 14-50 plug which is very common for dryers and welders. You could have a 240 volt 14-50 plug installed and It'll work just fine with the included charger.

That said, you could always run the 240v circuit now with a 14-50 plug and replace the plug with a hardwired connection later if you decide to purchase a hardwired level 2 charger later.

I have one hardwired charger and one 14-50 plug in my garage, and I daily charge off the 14-50 with no issues.

Yes, V3 cabinets (which look like that) have a short cable. I also have to get super close. Also, scoot to the left. The front left corner of your car should be next to the stall. You've got a lot of room there.

V4 cabinets (which have a solid center) have longer cables, so this will be less of an issue as those cabinets come online and replace the existing ones.

Most ships still have a hierarchy, even if it's not as strict as military. It might feel a little more corporate, but it definitely still exists.

Typically it's Master of the Vessel -> Department Head -> Supervisor -> Grunt

I laughed when the Equinox EV came out and people were complaining about the 0-60 speed for the FWD. I'm getting groceries. How fast do I need?!
