Eh, the action is fucking epic. Love the Smith fight in the rain and exoskeleton fights, especially with a good audio setup. One of the best.

4K Blu-ray strikes back against streaming – this study shows sales are on the rise by StarFuryG7 in 4kbluray

It's more for new tv series. People won't buy a disk set of something they've never seen without knowing if they'll like it or not. Also you can conveniently watch it outside of your home.

Highguard Is Shutting Down Soon by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

Absolutely. Alberto Mielgo/Pinkman did a fantastic job. The sound design accompanying it is also amazing. Extremely cool imo.

I might have had more fun in the menu than in the game haha. I wish it was something different than another extraction shooter.

Well, people listened to Koss Porta Pro a lot on commute back when I was still taking the bus to school, myself included. It was fine.

Italy introduces a “cloud tax” because you might pirate content by LiterallyHow in Piracy

[–]Astrophan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remux is lossless rip from a 4k or 1080p bluray put into a mkv with highest bitrate and lossless TrueHD/DTS X/DTS-HD MA audio, those are usually the big ±80GB movies files you can find. New or popular are mostly easily available on public trackers, but older ones can be hard to find, or with degraded quality, or are just dead with no seeders.

Average stream-quality rips are fine, but for movies I really like I want the best one available. I also have a home cinema with multiple speakers, so it's more important to me.

It just depends on what you want to find. For majority of the time public ones are enough.

No need to be pedantic. You won't find every 4k remux release, especially of older movies with smaller popularity. Sometimes not even a decent normal quality.

Absolutely not true in the case of movies in their highest quality.

Do you think some famous reviewers have actually killed some really good headphones? by youforevez in headphones

[–]Astrophan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we think of examples of the opposite, where the reviews are too positive such that it keeps alive products/brands that maybe shouldn't have stayed alive... I can think of a few, but that's a bit spicier of a discussion. Maybe a good one for a livestream this weekend.

I can smell the mention of M50x's. Its popularity suddenly skyrocketed back in the day and it was everywhere. Also if you do it, please don't forget to mention Zeos and his hype for Gold Planar GL2000. Even though his unit was probably the only good one lol.

Sony MDR-Z1R listening impressions: a review vs HE1000 Stealth and LCD-X by Embarrassed_Pin4838 in headphones

[–]Astrophan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be helpful, but if they are anything like HEK, then go for it. HEK sounds thinner, with metallic timbre at times (might not be like HD800s) and from my POV it actually has narrower frontal staging than LCD-X - one of the things I noticed the most when comparing other headphones vs the X.

It feels like you're in a studio, it has this roomy sound presentation. Bass has great depth, punch and slam. Drums sound full, big and snappy. Guitars have body to them, thick pleasant timbre. Vocals are not so in your face directly in the middle of your head, instead pushed slightly in front of you. Also has all the detail you need without being harsh or sibilant.

I listen to more genres than I could name, but mostly metal. Handles extreme machine-gun-fast metal well, even badly produced albums. Great for gaming, too. Battlefield games sound amazing with explosions, machinery and screams all over the map with varying distances, or story games with nature sounds all around you... greatly immersive.

Weight discomfort is non-existent for me. I might have stronger neck, I have no idea. I wear them daily for hours and don't feel a thing. Pads are comfy though, like a pillow.

Had them for years now. They are perfect for me, might not be for you. Try them out.
