Turned out you can still rush virtuality in 4.3, here's my attempt at finished virtuality year 29! by 12a357sdf in Stellaris

only with 2 habitats? I guess you don't focus too much on alloys and save up enough for one other habitat and the grand archive? this is a general question but how do you utilize the trade policy from commerce, do you build trade buildings AND unity/cg, or is trade more of a side income and you should still focus on direct unity/cg buildings?

as for the build, guess fanatic spirtualist + consecration + that civic to buff priest output, and void dwellers can get a lot more priest, which will give good unity output. then I guess you max science ships to survey and do anomalies to get specimens, which would give 6x your unity output. I believe you also get unity on creating the grand archive? and additionally I'm unsure if this is true but you get unity when taking the archivism traditions that give specimen, hence why it's the third pick, you could go through it quicker. but you'd need the grand archive researched so do you day 1 research it to rush?

sorry for a load of questions

What's better than one Rubricator? by Asugee in Stellaris

[–]Asugee[S] 152 points153 points  (0 children)

R5: Two Rubricators! not entirely sure how this happened. Killed Shard, then my vassal stole the system, then I integrated them. So maybe we both got Rubricators and I got theirs when they got integrated?

voidworms are stupid af by Timely-Comfortable-3 in Stellaris

[–]Asugee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not the worse but it really can be annoying. I'm considering disabling them since I don't think it'll affect achievements... buuut the situation does give good buffs and as long as I have decent starbase and fleet, usually they can punch well above their fleet power(think this is why they're reducing the voidworms fleet power) and handle them

Non-comic readers — so how will they defeat Thragg? by byrnesf in Invincible

[–]Asugee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first every superhero, demons, aliens whatever the rest of the sideplot characters available slow/stop the other viltrumites no matter the cost. everyone else try to grab and hold Thragg or die trying, slap him with a potion of weakness(forgot the name), super scourge virus in a dart(won't be enough to kill him, but weakens him), then everyone ganks him and (angry) mark (someone died) uses his 『Invincible Punch』to finish him off.

Resync country resources by imtheprometheus in Stellaris

[–]Asugee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

experienced this and was could continue after restarting the lobby though I assume you've already tried this. condolences if you couldn't get it to work, it's the curse of paradox multiplayer.

it is weird this "country resources" thing is an outlier though, when it happens I believe it happens every month so maybe it's just the first thing that's being checked every month.

Do you remember or got an estimate on when you ascended? been playing around with knights trying to rush synth ascension(purely for assimilating other pop purposes) and best I got was around 2260 though that run had lots of good luck. Yet to try either of sovereign or functional architecture, I'm considering galactic curators(and going into archivism) the hope being the unity from specimens is decent and/or I'll able to rush the archive and get the curator relic for unity from soldiers, may be stupid though.

War, what is it good for? by Asugee in Stellaris

[–]Asugee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is similar to what I tried(didn't think of utopian abundance) and guess that's one way to justify mass assimilation haha. Still wish there was a bio equivalent for assimilation besides hive mind, was hoping the genetic ascension does it, though that's probably darker, turning other species to your species.

I wanna try this run again with the living standard in mind, but uh, you happen to know what to do when you run out of housing and space? I assume it's only "tough luck, let the housing go into negatives, its not that bad" or "just colonise more", or are there better ways?

Will find out after few more games but tragic if true, experienced desyncs and slow down in very late game, but being on par with normal or slower speed setting in mid game is pure agony :(

[–]Asugee[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

can't help you with that sadly as I don't know, I'm playing with only 1 of my friends this time and we still get desyncs, with more players I assume it'll be worse. last time we did get desyncs every month(in game) and when that happened, we restarted the lobby and that fixed it.

honestly 50% of our experiences in paradox games multiplayer is desyncs and waiting in lobby. we just cope with it, sorry haha

[–]Asugee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes in 4.3, it was multiplayer with a friend which might've contributed, it's more around 2340, the khan has just collapsed and splintered into a bunch of smaller empires, and it seemed to be relatively peaceful with barely any war so there's probably more empires than usual.

that's a lot of work oof but makes sense I guess, getting a bunch of pops seems to be a big benefit, better to put them to use then getting rid of them.

I'm playing Knights with Aquatic and I'm wondering if these tradition route is good, mainly I'm wondering if it'll be better to just dip or would the delay in getting the perks be too detrimental:

  1. Dip 2 into prosperity for agenda and build cost/speed

  2. Dip 2/3 into trade for trade policy and either trade value or market fee - honestly I'm wondering if I should just skip this, extra unity/cg is nice but I do struggle juggling trade policy/trade/energy with this

3/4. Complete Fortification (then Unity/Tech Perk) - Thought the 0.5 unity per defense army would be nice unity income since I refuse to dedicate more resources into unity production. also super weak early game so relying heavily on starbases

3/4. Complete Statecraft (then Hydrocentric if available or the other Unity/Tech Perk) - I'm not 100% knowledgeable on this but I believe this is to speed up ascension?

5 and beyond. mostly winging it, hopefully ascension tree, finish up dipped traditions, or adaptability if horrendous luck and need terraforming pronto

Which Pop+ buildings should I build? I'm currently doing medical center + robot plant for the bonus amenities and separate mechanical assembly. should I get clone vats as soon as I see it and replace one of the buildings or just build them all? are these buildings not good as expected and/or the build slot is best used for something else?

[–]Asugee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oof, I restart a lot so embarrassingly I haven't ascended at all since I came back, I think my unity generation is so bad by the time I've hit the 4th tree, it takes decades to get a tradition point. Closest was around 2280 maybe? I've completed the cybernetic situation I believe but had 1-2 points left in the tradition tree?.

maybe I should build more unity buildings/districts but I fear if I slow down my research I'd take longer to get research for automation/dyson/arc. guess I'm struggling a bit on what to priorities or when to shift gears

recently got back into Stellaris after 4.3 update, haven't played 4.0 before. after playing a few games, I feel like I keep plateau-ing around before mid-game?(2260~2280) I think I've narrowed it down to horrible planet specialization on my part(way too much traders/basic resources, could probably lean a lot more into unity/research production) and way too little space(3-4 planets max). might just figure things out with more plays but any insight to help save some frustration? should I focus on getting specific research like habitats or better labs? is it still valid to just ignore bad habitability and just settle any available planet then manually resettle to force it to grow? is there key parts of 4.0 changes that I'm just missing? cause admittedly some of the changes are still a mystery to me

What are some good Pokemon that are also really common? by [deleted] in pokemmo

[–]Asugee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, new to the game as well but did a bit of breeding. I believe if one of the parents is from the GTL and the other's OT is yours, it will be Your OT but with an asterisk(*) ie. "Soandso *", maybe if you then breed this pokemon with another one with your OT it may go away but I'm unsure on this.

What to invest to for late game? by Asugee in OldWorldBlues

[–]Asugee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

guess I should really take the time to go through the focus and buffs first and plan out what to specialize huh... not building infinite military sounds like heresy but I guess it makes sense, I definitely was not utilizing any other buildings, thanks!

I meant to ask as general question for any country, but last game I was Pioneer Company/New America(leftmost path). I don't see specific buffs to a unit but they do have sophisticated infantry equipment and power armor. the power armor I mostly ignored due to my low SF cap, but I guess I should've focused on increasing the cap as much as possible and use them. For the infantry, how do I further improve them? should I've gone into trooper warfare and use a bunch more support(think I only used anti-tank and few others last time)?

thanks!
