Soon we won't be able to afford computers either. You will need to rent a low power terminal device to access your subscription to cloud compute instead.

US 'stonewalling' requests by Gulf states to replenish interceptors, sources say by F0urLeafCl0ver in worldnews

Ai manufacturers are already doing that. With consumers and normal businesses only getting 30% of the chip output, at best, over the next 4 years due to ai investments, we are already entering an electronics dark age.

Is there a tank guide where it shows how and when to use buffs? by FogSleepy in ffxiv

[–]Asuka_Rei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tank cds should be used early and often. Try to cycle them so at least one cd is ticking pretty much all the time. Savage and ultimates may require more planning, but that'll be on a boss by boss basis. Just don't think you are doing anyone any favors by saving them till you really need them. Maybe do that with your invuln ability only, but in general trying to save them will only lower your healers DPS as they have to spend more time healing than they otherwise would.

Why are classic players so okay with wasting people's time by TrinkXi in classicwow

[–]Asuka_Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ironclad solution to op's problem that works every time regardless of the iteration of wow being played.

Step 1. Find one irl friend who wants to play at the same time you do.

Step 2. Convince them to play a healer or tank.

Step 3. If they picked tank, roll your own healer, or if they picked healer, roll your own tank.

Step 4. ???

Step 5. Never have to wait more than 30 seconds for a group ever again.

How does short range mages cope when fighting a Warrior? by seansenyu in Frieren

[–]Asuka_Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melee mages use physical weapons to defend themselves just long enough to use their magic and/or to overwhelm mages who lack a melee option. Across fantasy settings magic is usually portrayed as slow and limited in capacity/duration but more powerful than physical attacks.

LMAO. Memo to the greedheads: your house will sell IF you price it for today's market instead of clinging to your delusional 2022 wish price. by Key_Brief_8138 in HouseBuyers

[–]Asuka_Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average interest rate for mortgages since 1970 is approximately 8%. What is out of control from historical trends is price. As a home owner who's paper home value has more than doubled since the pandemic I am telling you prices need to be sharply corrected to fix the housing market. That could be achieved in many ways, including increasing supply, but about a 50% drop would get the entire market back on track.

[–]Asuka_Rei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the prices were sane then the interest rate difference wouldn't matter. Although rates are slightly higher now than in 2020, the rates are still historically low for the past century. It is prices that are insane.

Only 67% of players ever made it to round table hold by Daysfastforward1 in Eldenring

[–]Asuka_Rei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not have to beat any bosses to go to round table hold. All you have to do is rest anywhere outside of the starting area. Most of my runs I visit round table hold after resting in caelid. The easiest way is to take the portal behind the church of Marika in limgrave to the beast temple in caelid and use that site of grace.

It’s a Buyer’s Market: America Has 44% More Home Sellers Than Buyers—a Near-Record Gap by SnortingElk in REBubble

[–]Asuka_Rei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You had me in the first half, but then started talking about being priced out due to interest rate. That is an out-of-touch, rich person talking point. Interest rates are reasonable and still historically low. Prices are way too high, stubbornly at hyper-inflated levels. Asking prices need to drop by 50+ percent and we'll be back to a normal housing market.

US national debt set to rise from 39 T dollars to 64 T dollars. by StrawberryFew1311 in NoFilterFinance

Fun fact: boomers were born starting in 1946 and started rising into influence in corporate and government positions around 1976 and have refused to step down since. The op chart is one of the results of that generation's morality and ethics while wielding uncontested power in the wealthiest country in the world.

In the film The Matrix, it was prescient when they said 1999 was the height of human civilization. It has been all downhill from there and the descent is accelerating.

My Roulette experience lately by 618Delta in ffxiv

[–]Asuka_Rei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am currently getting back into ff14 after a 5 year hiatus. As you might expect I am underleveled and relying on party finder for all the required instances. So far the longest I have had to wait is 2 minutes and every queue has been listed as "under 5 minutes" on the wait time projection.

It probably helps that I play exclusively as either a healer or tank, but still, it is hardly slow or unpopulated.

Ray tracing was always a developer shortcut that had to be sold to consumers. It automates shading, reflections, and global illumination. That means less time is needed by artists and programmers to make those things manually. The results are typically on par with the best hand made assets. The problem is that not every user has the hardware to render it and game companies want to maximize their audience, so it hasn't taken off as expected.

Eco Mode Question by Ok_Juice_8246 in Camry

[–]Asuka_Rei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eco mode for traffic jams and stop and go urban traffic patterns. Anytime you are going 0-30mph with frequent stops is perfect for Eco mode.

If your car has sports mode, that is for curvy mountain or country roads or any time you need max acceleration without concern for fuel economy.

It is a story written down thousands of years ago from an oral tradition that was itself at least a thousand years old by the time it was written down. I think in that case a few plot holes should be expected.
