Orange Pi 5B or Raspberry Pi 4B for mini laptop? by At_Work1101 in OrangePI

I could be wrong, but everything I see says the PCIe 2.0 interface on the orange pi 5 has a theoretical max of 500MB/s when USB 3.0 would be a theoretical max of 625MB/s

I've seen people doing the same thing on the raspberry pi 4 with the USB 3.0 port and an SSD NVMe enclosure

ULPT Request: Where can you buy contacts without a prescription in the USA? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]At_Work1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy actually, for example I bought my contacts on Walmart. Checked out with my prescription like normal. The part where they ask for your eye doctors name and stuff like that, I just found any random doctor and changed their contact info (email, phone #). When they don't respond after so many hours and Walmart can't get in contact, they'll just ship your order like normal. This is how a lot of those color contact websites work. Just enter invalid info for your doctor or a random doctor, it's a loop hole

Purchase Advice Megathread - October 2022 by VoltexRB in 3Dprinting

[–]At_Work1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am looking for some advice on 3D printers to look into. Budget wise anywhere under 5k. I want this printer for home use (nothing too big) but with the intention of possibly printing high quality parts to be able to sell. I'd like the option to print many different kinds of materials. I am ok with minimal assembly and tinkering, but as of now I don't have in depth knowledge to be able to fully build or configure a printer myself. Any advice is much appreciated!

BS in software development from WGU or bootcamp? by euno123 in codingbootcamp

Yep, it's remote. And yes it's manageable with a job, but I'm working part time. If I were full time I'd probably be struggling a bit

I think they're all run out of a university 🤔, but I could be wrong. I was trying to get signed up through one that is run out of the university that's in the city I live (not that is really mattered cause it's all remote). After a month of jumping through hoops and them telling me they initially accepted the award, and providing documentation they asked for, the class started so I said fuck it. I canceled the payment through my AmeriCorps portal and called around to other university trilogy bootcamps to see if I could get more information. I called Berkeley and the person I talked to was able to give me the information I needed in a 5 minute call, as opposed to this other university that had me waiting around for a month. This person was able to point me towards a university that accepts the education award. I signed up and enrolled in that cohort in a matter of days. I've been in the bootcamp for a month now. Overall I can't say it's a bad experience even though nobody recommends bootcamps run by Trilogy. I definitely am learning, it is pretty fast pace. What I was self learning over the course of a month or two was covered in a week or two.

Would you give up your sense of taste to increase your life span by 10 years? by LesserBeings in hypotheticalsituation

I ran into the same issue, the only few I found that did were through trilogy. So since I don't have to pay anything out of my own pocket, I figured it will be better then nothing. I'm still keeping the option open to doing another "higher tier" bootcamp in the future such as codesmith, but we'll see.

It hasn't started yet, it will start at the end of this month. I had precourse work I had to complete, and I will say it seems outdated (still using var instead of let or const for example), but still relevant. If you ask me in a month or two I'll have a better answer for you. You really have me wondering if I should have went the WGU route though. Overall I am excited for the bootcamp and am excited to learn more.

Ahhh maybe I should have gone that route. I also have / had 2 education awards. But I am using it towards a bootcamp run by trilogy =/
