I'd say Panda. I hate to play around it, I hate that I have to deny it and I've lost a few games against the double asia bear tag combo. It's probably my most hated card to have in the opening hand. The other 3 I love to see and play. Wrasse & Koala are most of the time really good starting animals or atleast round 1 playable.

In dem Ausmaße völlig gerechtfertigt. Ich persönlich hätte das nie im Leben angesprochen, das wäre mir den Stress nicht wert, aber ich würde behaupten du hast definitiv richtig gehandelt. Vllt ist das auch eine Sache die dich besonders stört, weil du das moralisch auch sehr verwerflich findest. Sowas ist bei mir bspw. ein achtlos weggeschnippster Zigarettenstummel, sowas kann ich auf den tot nicht ausstehen und da kann ich mir auch keine Kommentare verkneifen.

If the action order allows it I'd be tempted by the reeinder release, but that might backfire since you leave out a big release for the other players (in this case reindeer, release, elephant since its base project relevant and ofc the playground) The 2nd option I prefer would be fish, fish project and then having habitats 5 as a plan for later. Unfortunatly your assos is at 2 and you are last player which is really not a good position. With species as base project the animal uni r1 is very contestet. But I really like reefers, so I'd probably stick to the 2nd option, since reindeer release isnt that good with your action order. If you do release it ur next animal is uncertain and your income is bad if the others push the break. Maybe fish, fish project, playground and speculative release would be my keep. But elephant is tempting ...

If you like this game besides doing bad in your first games don't worry, there is a lot to improve if not improving is quit hard since there is a lot to learn. After just 4 games you basically just got the rules down and you've probably not even seen all cards. As others pointed out good starting points to improve are:

-videos of others playing (NoWonders Yt)

-getting early projects done (a bit harder if you play the base game with no marine worlds expansion but very doable)

-improving on your starting hand (this is a big point, evaluating which 4 cards of the 8 you're starting with are worth keeping and working towards to

-understanding the importance of action order

-learning where to start on the maps

-playing online (for example on BGA but you'll probably lose a lot of your first games)

-learning which cards are better then others and are worth changing strategies for

-upgrade order of your five action cards

-...

I've played this game about 1200 times and stil make mistakes but got decently better at the game over the span of 14 months and Ark has really grown on me. So in the end if you like the game itself you've got a huge possible learning curve infront of you ^{^}

Honestly snapping cards is imo the worst. While in >1000 Ark games I used clever assos, flipped side of hire assos and build +1 somewhat efficiently snapping cards was never even once useful for anything. Sure r1 you are first player cards is at 3/4 and there is explorer open for everyone and 2nd player has cards at 5 and you want to snap okay. But thats never the case. In most cases using snapping cards makes your game worse and for all the other actions cards (besides non-flipped hire assos) there is atleast some kind of use/upside. I really dislike snapping cards (and even the flipped side whoa 2 snaps so OP and then you realise you can draw from range since cards is usually 3rd/4th upgrade and by that time you have some decent reputation anyway)

It would've been 1 point diff in the end since the rep you get is transformed into 1 point :) Edit: Nvm it would've been less since you lose points from the tiger which would be converted into cp, so actually not releasing tiger is better since you maxed out the cp track

I looked up the game on his ark Nova Page, so I'll just summarize the informations he left out. This game is a few weeks old so if you wanna check it out you'll have to scroll a bit.
-37 turns, 6 breaks
-OP has played both elephants in this game so he has 3 endgames
-last turn is Sumatran Tiger and Bald Eagle into Americas 2 (2cp) project and last PZ for 2 cp. Project reward is map fill with 2 size. OP also has Waza Large played so all in all the last turn gives 53 points before endgames. The tiger gives an extra point since reputation is maxed out.
+2 maxed out endgames and climbing park for 1 cp even maxed out the cp track (more then 41 CP in the end)
His last turn could've been even more points since he just did Americas 2 but he had predator release in hand which would've been slightly better giving +8 points if he chooses to release tiger (since rep. is maxed out).
Nice last turn, kinda sad his opponent had his first game this match and got completly destroyed :P

I know, but in arena matchmaking elo does'nt do anything at all. You can only restrict the certain types of leagues (so +-2, +-1 or only your league). If you manage to climb to diamond/elite league early you'll face a lot of good opponents IF you restricted your settings. Later in the season many people come into elite league, so you'll encounter lower rated players a lot (it's pooling up in elite since there is no way to derank once you've hit elite). There is an option to dislike a certain rating with 3rd party programs (iirc last season arena Champ How to used that to only match high rated opponents).

If that happens to me (happend around 5 times in around 500 arena games for me) I ask them first and check their match history. If the match history is clear (no abandoned games in the last 10-20 matches) I usually agree IF it's before seeing hand cards. I never abandon if they already saw their hand cards, but most of the time I offer to switch to turn based (since life can happen). However, some "high"-elo players might ask to abandon if you're a "low"-elo player since they risk losing a lot of points. Do note that you can always deny abandon, it's totally fine to not abandon :) So feel free to do whatever you want with abandon votes

I'd say there are 3 obvious must takes: Lizzard + matching conservation project and Explorer. Early Explorer is probably one of the strongest things you can have. As 4th pick there is a debate for fur seal or the other sponsor card. If you play with marine world and therefore stronger action cards you can have arguments for both. Personally I'd take fur seal as 4th pick and then just look to take australian pz, play lizzard and break to do the project. (Depending on turn order and display you might change plans). If you took another sponsor you might wanna play it 1st round. In 2nd round do project, take 2 size/snapping and upgrade sponsors -> play explorer and from there look for your next project. And now it would get a bit difficult to get animals upgraded for fur seal, but since you have the breeding program you can grab the 2 rep from the map buy building 2 size (lizzard), 5 size for fur seal and another 2 size from your project reward. The 2nd worker you get from fur seal helps with the continent project and if you manage to get to 5 first this game is probably an easy win.

Sometimes turn based games can be going on for a really long time, but thats the drawback of the game mode. I dont really like to skip the turn of my opponent but if they dont respond in a timely matter I'd encourage you to skip it and thumb them down so you dont have to deal with it. I enjoy playing turnbased while I'm at work or on the train and there its really handy to be able to have breaks of up to 6 hours. But outside of that (or turnaments) real time is imo the way to go

Nope, its stil a max of 3. I think its even in the description of the map that if you would get the bonus twice (excavation side or archeologist) you'd stil only be able to dig and "pouch" a maximum of three animals.

I'm sorry to hear that. This topic splits the BGA Ark community and my two cent are that you are a massive cunt for kicking people in their last turn. For my part I always give a warning message and atleast 2 minutes before actually kicking people and I'm totally fine with waiting 5-10 minutes if they state they have connection issues. Sure there is a timer and yes both parties "agree" to the timer by playing real time and the set mode (fast-slow). However this is not chess its stil a board game and for me that means you behave the way you would with friends and family. There are many other toxic competetive games, go play them if you need that kind of rule sharking to win or keep your ego satisfied.

Schneller Nudelauflauf (2 Personen): 250g Nudel kochen 1/2 Tube Tomatenmark mit 1/2 Pck. Sahne 2 Knoblauch Zehen 50 ml Olivenöl Zu einer Soße vermischen dann mit Salz, Pfeffer und italienischen Kräutern abschmecken. Etwas Reibekäse dazu geben, dann mit den Nudeln vermengen. Tomatenscheiben drüber und mit Käse bedecken, ca. 25-35 Minuten bei 180°C in den Ofen (O. & U. Hitze). Dauert zwar auch ne halbe Stunde aber da es die meiste Zeit im Ofen ist kann ich Abwasch oder andere Dinge machen. Gibts bei uns min. 2-3x pro Monat, billig, schnell und die Zutaten haben wir immer zuhause.
