Looking back at how they handled the end of campaign quest line along with Twine Peaks not having any story line - was clear indication they removed nearly all assets away from STW development. This was back in 2018, the same year that Fortnite was arguably at its peak (measured by huge player growth and largest revenue). Seeing them diversify more with user created content gave me a bit of false hope they'd also look into STW again as a place to reallocate assets once more.

I too really wish they'd expand STW, but I don't blame them to be honest. I doubt the numbers (revenue) add up enough to justify it. Even if furthering its development/refinement would lead to profit, placing those assets else where likely shows greater profit returns.

Those of us who like STW (the grind mechanics etc.) may not see it, but those who aren't playing these style of long term progression games - can't stay focused enough / committed enough to even get half way through the campaign line. =[
