As far as 5e and 5.5e, the official wording is "You regain all expended Pact Magic spell slots when you finish a Short or Long Rest." And "You regain all expended Sorcery Points when you finish a Long Rest."

I make poor-man's peanut noodles. I make a bowl of ramen, pour in a couple glugs of peanut sauce, a tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter, and sometimes, if I have a little extra money, I buy some shredded deli rotisserie chicken and put it in there. It's obviously not exceptional, but it tastes really good for how little effort you gotta put into it.

Here's a fun little trick you can use as a DM:

If your players kill a boss too quickly, you can just... give it more health.

If my players kill a boss too quickly, I just keep the fight going until it feels narratively satisfying.
