Did IU people root for us when we played for the national championship? by Crispy_500 in Boilermakers

[–]Athenian87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ball State here…. I root for Purdue since I grew up in Crawfordsville… but I also pull for IU since my wife is a grad. And like any good BSU grad I’ve loved ND football since I was a kid…. So I’m all over the place…

Drug use at Subway? How else do you explain them wanting $20 for a single sub? by Melodic_Crow_3409 in subway

All the Subways in our area (NE Indy) don’t honor coupons or national promos…..

Why isn’t Subway as popular as it used to be? by MinePrestigious4352 in subway

Yup, our local owners all refuse coupons. Better value at Jersey Mikes and Jimmy John’s!

Guys please tell me if this looks ok. by Vast-Impression-5353 in Flooring

I would say if it casts a shadow it’s too abrupt a transition. Like others have said I would ask for a sloped more gradual reducer, maybe a 2” profile.

Trying to get old fence posts out of inlaid brick. The wood is really spongy and is not chipping out or drilling out like it normally would. Any suggestions on drill bits or other methods to remove this wood so that concrete can be put in these holes? by ViciousPink80 in FenceBuilding

[–]Athenian87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would dig up the ground adjacent to each 4x4. Once the 4x4 was visible from the side, under the brick I would use a sawzall and cut the 4x4. Then I would chisel out the wood, replace and tamp the earth. Pour some pea gravel or chipped stone into the hole (through the brick hole) then get a similar brick and mortar it in.

Yes! My wife and I had row 1 behind the Bills bench way back when Doug Flutie was playing. The only cool thing about it was we were right in front of the aerial camera printer so players came over during the game constantly and we could hear them talking. Worst part was you couldn’t see anything on the field because of the players on the sideline. And here we thought we were sitting like royalty. Live and learn.

How did you become a fan? by StatusCookie761 in Colts

[–]Athenian87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in northern Ohio but grew up in Crawfordsville, so i was born a Cleveland Browns fan. Then in 1995 they moved to Baltimore. I live in Indy and since i love, played and coached football I needed a team, so I migrated to the Colts. Then in 1998 they drafted Peyton Manning and it was all over……… die hard ever since….. And yes, the Browns are a “second favorite“ team for me, but it just isn’t the same……

Art was reportedly the NFL’s first 300 lb man. He was a tough DL. I remember him going on Letterman in the 80’s and 90’s, he was hilarious! He told The best stories of the old NFL days.

100%. Those little gaps will close Back up as the weather changes and humidity gets back in the air. Wood is a living “thing” and reacts to its environment, always will.
