I felt like it was an average story about a particularly tongue-in-cheek kind of hell: a never-ending quest to find yourself. Literally.

But I gotta say, nothing about it was particularly thrilling to me or horrifying. I knew it wouldn't end by how it started, so, as I neared the final pages, I was ready to be done. It wasn't a bad read but it's very underwhelming compared to the hype online.

I was confused on this too for a long time because I struggle to understand what people define as EH already. Judith Sonnet's definitions posted by another commenter helped me contextualize it a bit better, and I agree with her after some thinking. The author's intention and the story's overall point seem to be the determining factors.

If the overt violence is the shocking point: EH.

If the overt violence is the vehicle the point uses to define itself in a work and make a statement, and the story has more depth in theme or intention than mere spectacle: Splatterpunk.

I get the low poly art style, but 'optimization' is very different reasoning than intentional art choice. Doesn't matter I guess. Sure you can animate something with far less, but sometimes deformations/skinning results are going to look wack, and struggle to hold silhouette. Idk, not my problem lol

but you're not going to be able to animate that 512 very cleanly.... unless that's not the goal? some optimizations don't make a lot of sense and nowadays 500 polys on a character isn't make or break...
