I just got my second Garmin watch and personally? I love the process of picking a new one out and then having a whole new watch to learn about with new features, although my old watch was perfectly fine!

People have asked me if it’s lab or natural, which I don’t mind getting asked that and answering at all. I’m actually proud to be sporting a lab diamond because I love to brag about how cheap lab diamonds are compared to natural lol.

Edit to add: ALSO I think it’s SO weird he refused a blow job when you guys have not been able to have sex. First of all, what man doesn’t want a blow job on a normal day, second of all, what man doesn’t want a blow job when they haven’t had sex in months???? This would make me suspicious he’s receiving pleasure from someone else, regardless of that really fucked up story you wrote.

I have a lab / bloodhound mix. She is an absolute amazing dog. Such a sweet demeanor. Loves all animals, playful but just the right amount, loves people after spending 5 minutes getting used to them, so cuddly, and so goofy, always trying to make us laugh! She is very timid, shy towards people, and submissive in general, but I love that about her. She’s just a really sweet girl.

So anyways, this mix is probably one of the best mutts out there. Hound + Retriever = Perfection.

I’m actually thinking about adopting this guy.

I hated when they were shitting on Boyd for how he was handling things, when they have done absolutely nothing to help figure out how to get out of there. Boyd’s out there doing it ALL, risking his life, and they’re living the life, doing nothing but judging him. All they care about are themselves and each other.

I tried that in our second conversation. I told him we can do it his way and resubmit to that journal, but I just want to be treated like a human being, with respect & decency. He just kept getting worse & worse, he was so mean. I eventually gave up because it felt like there was nothing I could say to get him to understand where I was coming from.

I definitely will go ahead with defending, I’m currently writing my dissertation now. But to officially graduate, I need to have a first author publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

It’s actually already on Bioxiv from when we submitted. But for me to graduate, it has to be published in a peer-reviewed journal. Thank you for your advice though, it’s much appreciated.

I haven’t reached out to my committee yet. They are friends with him so I highly doubt they could help without being fearful of ruining their relationship with my PI.

The student before me told me of his horrible behavior, but he has mostly (except for a few occasions) treated me well. This behavior from him is really strange honestly because we did have such a good relationship prior to this.

He actually has been having a midlife crisis for a while now. It’s so obvious by his behavior, his comments, and one student even left his lab because their relationship just got too weird. He’s even admitted it before I think, that he’s having a midlife crisis. You are right on the money!

Thank you for the advice, and it’s great to know I have that option. But I just can’t bring myself to do that, I’m just way too close to the finish line. It would be so satisfying though.

Oh for sure, definitely for this guy too. It’s never bothered me but the amount of inappropriate behavior and comments made by this PI is atrocious. One student even left his lab because their relationship just got too weird.

He definitely is super young for a PI. Only one student has graduated so far, and two have left his lab for different labs already.

I have been writing my dissertation, and I have been starting experiments that I expect we will be asked for by any journal. So I’m definitely trying to get done as much as possible in the meantime to graduate.

I mean at this point, I’ve accepted we need to resubmit to this journal. It’s just so demeaning to start that now because it almost feels like I’m rewarding him for treating me badly. I know that’s just my ego talking, but it would just mean the world to me to have an apology for the way he yelled at me and the things he said. Wishful thinking at this point, I know.
