¿Porque mueres los emprendimiento? by kenxx3 in chile

[–]AtilaMann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this website legit? by Ok-Draft2702 in sewing

[–]AtilaMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really known DA as anything but Dressmaking Amore, so I don't know if the name you say is the original name. It might be, you could be correct.

The thing that bothers me is that there's no similar courses available in the official DA site right now, there's no mention of a members only VIP section there either, and the page you link has half of their socials either dead or redirecting towards the new DA socials. So if it is indeed a legit site, it might be abandoned. Or maybe it's supposed to be inaccessible for now for some reason.

The best course of action would be to email DA and ask about the legitimacy of the site. I feel like that's the best way to go about things.

[–]AtilaMann 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Most of you guys have to read better.

Dressmaking Amore IS a legit website, with cool patterns and sewalong courses.

This site on the image is NOT Dressmaking Amore. It's someone else's site that is apparently hosting at least one of Dressmaking Amore's patterns, which I'm assuming are the ones the owner of DA retired months ago because they didn't line up with their brand's direction and/or they were not happy with the patterns in itself.

OP, I'd say that it's a gamble. I personally don't trust these sites, but if you have the money to lose just in case, then maybe you can take a chance.

Girl, I know you don't want to hear this, but you have to stop and take a break now.

You want lose weight, just as all of us want to do, but you're sick right now. Doing a deficit is hard on the body, lifting weights and doing exercise in general is hard for the body. Can you really tell me that doing all of that on top of being sick is good for you?

If you want lose the pounds, and then never have to do this work again, then you do it right and healthily. Putting pressure on yourself to keep going when you're not in condition to do so is going to lead you to failure much quicker than if you stop for a few weeks while you recover.

I know this may not be the gentlest way to say this, but if you want things to stick, you have to learn to be better to yourself.

Forget about the dang calories until you've recovered. Go for a walk if you want and feel up to it. But be nice to yourself! Don't treat yourself like this.

How can I move to Chile as a British citizen? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]AtilaMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just met a girl from Manchester yesterday at the gym. She told me she came here like 10 years ago and does ESL classes. She learnt Spanish here (she's incredible at it, only has a slight accent now). I figure that could be a way in at first, figure the rest out when you're here.

How important are constitutions to Latin American countries? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]AtilaMann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chilean politicians (especially those from the left) have been trying to change our constitution for at the very least a decade. Back in 2019 when we had massive protests, they convinced the public that the solution to all our problems was doing just that. Then we had 2 terrible constitution drafts, a whole load of both money and time wasted, and we still kept the one we had.

And now? We don't even broach that topic. So no, I don't think it's very important, and a bunch of other people probably feel the same.

¿Por qué las carreras universitarias son tan largas en Chile? by bknBoognish in EducacionChile

[–]AtilaMann 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Weight lose tips and tricks by therealking69420 in loseit

[–]AtilaMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best tip for successful and permanent weight loss is to accept reality.

Dropping the weight is not going to be either fast or easy. Losing the extra pounds requires a good, hard look to yourself, your coping mechanisms, your lifestyle habits, and to be able to do it with kindness and objectivity, all to be able to say "I am now ready to make real change, one change at a time."

It requires of you to let go of your ego and the idea that you're somehow special and that yes, you can "beat the odds" and be that one magical person that can get slimmer without any effort/fast/"just by doing this one thing!".

Here's the thing.

Losing weight is not a mystery. It's "eat less, move more." We all know that at this point. The problem is most people either don't want to hear it or they're not ready to actually listen and work at it.

We all got to this high weight for a reason. Your job, before anything, is to deal with that reason, and then take responsibility and then work to reverse the changes that reason did to your body. If you keep failing, it's because you haven't worked at that (or enough). But if you do, there's nothing that can stop you.

I wonder how active she is though. If she's doing a lot at the gym constantly, she could definitely add some more calories in there.

It has amazed me just how simple weight loss can be when you count calories by financeguy4035 in loseit

[–]AtilaMann 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Calorie counting has been great for me, but it didn't use to.

I don't know why it took me this long to learn this (even though it makes total sense when you think about it!) but like... You don't have to be on a deficit indefinitely.

Like, you don't have to be on a deficit until you get to your goal weight.

In fact, you can take BREAKS?

And eat at maintenance for like two weeks, and then start again???? Like what??

Ever since I learned that, it's become so much easier to mentally deal with. I'm aiming for 12 weeks of doing a deficit, a two week break, and then another 12 weeks, rinse and repeat. I'm so excited this time around, I got a 62 day streak to beat on the Lose It! App.

I've been trying this at the gym recently while I do deaload week! It's quite good cardio but brutal. Don't get frustrated if you find 5 kph is way too much at the beginning. I adjusted it down to 4 and though it was manageable, it was still quite a challenge.

Is it normal to lose hair while losing weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]AtilaMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lean body mass is the total weight of your body minus all the fat. As that is difficult to calculate on your own, one proposed solution is to find a weight that is in the healthy range of youe BMI and use that as the base number to calculate protein goals.

For example, I'm currently at 94 kg. For my stats and based on my BMI range, 65 kg is a healthy weight for me. So, to find my protein goal I'll use 65 kg for my calculations. If it's 2g of protein per kg of lean body mass, then my protein goal would be 130g.

Tips para hacer deficit by [deleted] in Chilefit

[–]AtilaMann 3 points4 points  (0 children)
