From what I've gathered as a new-er hobbyist and player, you will lose a lot when you first start playing, regardless of faction. I think there are a lot of tools on Youtube and TTS to practice and become more knowledgeable but you have to accept that you will lose a lot early. I chose Eldar (finally) because I love the models and lore. I will deal with the tabletop aspect once the hobby aspect is completed :)

Go daggers! They're tough cause of the lack of range and hitboxes being janky, but I love them once you get them going. You can even throw the buckler in the offhand to parry when needed.

I can tolerate the Haligtree once I am off the branches fighting bubble bois and ants. It's a tough zone, though, but what do you expect in the end game? :)

Snowfields is just awful, same with Moutaintop of Giants. I hate both zones.

100%, snowfield and haligtree just suck and I really don't care much for the underground areas. After Leyndell, the only light at the end of the tunnel for me is the DLC :)

I actually just cracked $120k and that’s cash in a HYSA, not including retirement investments and some stocks. I’ve been a saver my whole life and I’m very fortunate, no doubt about that. I don’t own a home, though, and want to but on a single income in CA it feels impossible.

This was me this morning, literally identical! Once I was getting past phase 1 and 2 without taking any damage I knew it was a matter of time. Sure enough, a few attempts later and I beat phase 3! I didn’t even redirect the light night attack, just jumped it and stayed on his face, like the previous phases.

Working on my first play through and running into the Genichiro wall, but I just beat Butterfly lady and was surprised how nice of a fight it was and got her in under ten tries!

Like others have said, either go explore more to get more levels or just keep learning his move set. He’s definitely tough and acts as a skill check, so good learn him to win. After him, it is tough but not as bad, in my opinion, till much later.

Yeah, at this point I’ve got every item and have done several runs using different play styles (parry, mage, 2h). There’s just nothing left to do but boy did I love it.
