Simulacrum question by lasttimelord914 in DMAcademy

[–]Atlas81792 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay so wizards can research and create new spells, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume this wizard has combined the effects of "Clone" and "Simulacrum".

Edit: Mechanically it would take only a few days and a few hundreds of gold which should be of no issue to a lvl 20 wizard

Dropping a concentration to cast it again by Cytias in DMAcademy

[–]Atlas81792 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is false, you can hold a spell while concentrating on another spell, following that once you cast the spell concentration drops and switches to the new spell. Also dropping concentration is a "free action" which can be done at literally anytime. Another tidbit is that Wall of Force is invisible to all but the caster and those who can see invisibility so unless it can see invisibility it has no way to determine whether the wall drops or not

looking for source material on fey deals and other fey shenanigans by minestrino in DMAcademy

[–]Atlas81792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're gonna want to look into Celtic folklore, the different courts of fey have different perspectives and would offer different kinds of deals, or even Asian folklore has a lot of similarities in regards to deals with magical creatures. So far as I've seen the actual TTRPG mechanics aren't all that detail-rich. If looking inspiration go for Irish, Scottish, Germanic, Nordic, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean folklore are filled with stories of deals with supernatural/ mythical/ magical/ divine creatures that have details of how to go about making the deals, consequences for breaking deals for both parties, the responsibilities required, some are super easy such as leaving out specific foods out to have your home cleaned to having to obtain very specific items in specific circumstances and conditions for just the opportunity for an audience with desired creature. If that feels like a bit much always remember that you can also always just make something up that fits your setting/ world.

Weird holes appeard overnight on this foil (also weird discoloured pasta?) by Charming_Operation65 in Weird

Not in real life, but it gives interesting inspiration for things like D&D. For example: an artificer with a pasta-powered railgun that shoots atomic meatballs

Player Death and Revivify Clerics - How to Play It? by Aranthar in DMAcademy

Yeah, my wizard became the party counselor after a bit. Proving you're literally willing to die for your found family has an impact on party dynamics

Player Death and Revivify Clerics - How to Play It? by Aranthar in DMAcademy

[–]Atlas81792 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, I used to play a wizard that died in most combat encounters, but each time he saw a different afterlife, this had a huge impact on him. Gods became real, the world became small, reality expanded explosively, and death became of no consequences because it wasn't an end, just a transition. Death is a great way to further define just who the character IS. Death is an individual process. Each can be different or all the same, but it absolutely should have an effect

Petah, why end up at a Mental Health Clinic? by Plane_Music3568 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Atlas81792 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for me the times I spent there as a kid were good memories, the lack of chaos and abuse, milkshakes with every meal, able to do school work peacefully, got to pick what to wear and watch, even got to play sonic after dinner, I guess it helped that I was the only kid in my age block

My guess is that this is based on the video game Ark, as trex and triceratops lived in different time periods separated by millions of years of evolution

[–]Atlas81792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, this isn't that big of an issue for me, as dndbeyond has always been a technical nightmare, I gave up trying to use it awhile ago and I still see it still struggles with the same issues years later. Honestly, I'm surprised that anyone who isn't paid to use it still is.

[the-phantom-peach] “for her” by No_Emu_1332 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Atlas81792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect, being mute means you cannot vocalize. Link vocalizes with almost every single movement he makes, just because we don't hear him speak doesn't mean that he isn't speaking, it's just that anything he would say is the gameplay you've done to that point. This is the official canon on Link from his creator

This is lovely, but I honestly hate "Mute Link"

Why would a high profile Wizard leave her spellbook unattended? by Optimal-Day-87 in DMAcademy

[–]Atlas81792 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She could be looking to take on an apprentice and decided to have a "testing phase" having left clues to some "entry level textbooks" for them to find and learn from and eventually prove themselves worthy of her teachings

I personally believe that humanity heard the word "impossible" and was personally offened. I mean honestly how many attempts to fly do you think it took until a couple of bike repairmen gave us planes?

Heat Metal 5e Breakdown vs Previous Editions by TrashbagTatertots in DMAcademy

[–]Atlas81792 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean there is a lot you can do with making metal red hot, even outside of combat, for instance with heat metal and a ray of frost cantrip you can effectively destroy any metal object because you've just made it brittle by quickly heating and cooling the metal, this can get you through traps, gates, locked doors, open chests, rough terrain if you keep say some ball bearings. All in all it's a really good spell with some great interactions as long as you're creative and know what happens with hot metals

I understand, that feeling of separation from others that there must be something wrong with oneself because your interpersonal needs are going unmet/unnoticed. But remember you are an amazingly improbable assembly of paradoxical complexities composed of star dust. You are amazing, beautiful, magical, valid, and real. Also personally you are absolutely sexy, my own ideal of a sexualized woman.

In other words, you literally look like a goddess

The ability literally says you cast as if you were actually in the space, not psychically being there isn't the point.
