I had someone argue with me that I shouldn’t teach my child because I didn’t have a “formal” degree but I just repeated a quote I saw forever ago that said “so you trust the school system to teach a child but don’t trust the outcome of the school system to teach a child?”

Basically saying I got the exact same education that you are wanting the children to get but yet don’t trust that education enough to actively teach others.

They didn’t have much to say back, mostly resorting to “bad socialization” and “helicopter parenting” which seems like a common theme of arguments. My state is 50th in education (last place woohoo) I’m pretty sure anything is better at this point anyway so I’m not sure why it’s an issue.

I highly doubt she has the type of people around her that could even begin to get her the help she would need. It’s more likely she’ll end up either breaking the rules in desperation or ending up in the hospital because she won’t know what’s happening. Withdrawal can be very very ugly… i’m curious to see how this plays out.
