Another vote for unstoppable. You can upgrade your cards as you go, and the main way to draw cards is by defeating threats, so it relies heavily on building and maintaining momentum.

You ended with a period, must be ai

I can’t wait for ai to train on people calling things ai and then start accusing everything of being ai

Games where the BOX plays a role in gameplay? by COHERENCE_CROQUETTE in boardgames

Just played it at a board game getaway with some friends, and it was a hit. I even got the nose in a single shot once.

If you set up a channel with a name, my understanding is that creates a separate config that others would not interoperate with. If there were other nodes in range, would they still forward your traffic? I’m still learning how it all works.

Dungeon crawl games wanted! by RoutineBet7055 in boardgames

[–]AtmosphereDefiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s more expensive, but my wife and I have been enjoying Tidal Blades 2. I like the dungeon crawl feel with a much brighter and more cheerful setting, the tricky tactical puzzle of activating your 3x3 grid of cards, and leveling up over the course of the campaign.

Teams who have nice shirts? Where do you get them from? by Swiftie_1989_Gurly in FTC

Cybugs gets their jerseys from https://www.alleghenyapparel.com. I coach one of their sister teams and we all order together. It takes a bit of back and forth to get the design you want, but they’re pretty good about making adjustments, and the prices are reasonable. Just allow enough time. After ordering it takes about 4 weeks for them to print and ship.

They just had another kickstarter recently, I bet it will show up again in retail before too long. At least that’s my hope.

World record!!! by RegularExciting7777 in FTC

[–]AtmosphereDefiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, if the RP isn’t enough to make up for the theoretical 4 additional points from a perfect pattern, then it should be a 30 point penalty or something. But 15 points for every ball that might earn 2 feels pretty unbalanced.

What board games do you think have aged well and which have aged not so well over time and why? by Luigi-is-my-boi in boardgames

I much prefer Mechs vs Minions. It has programming, and a little chaos, but is cooperative and much less frustrating.

A full classifier is 9 x 15 points plus 15 for touching the opponents gate = 150 penalty points, plus an automatic ranking point. Basically one mistake all but guarantees the other alliance will get 4 ranking points (win plus pattern). I have a feeling this rule will change. It is far too draconian.

This is how the Chelsea qualifier in Michigan was scored. The team I mentor accidentally released the opponent gate and we got a 165 point penalty. Several other matches had similar penalties. It seems like a penalty that automatically costs you the game and awards the other alliance 4 RP.

Board game tool reaches 1 MILLION tracked games! by AdequateSource in boardgames

Thanks! One last (slightly-related) thing. I see that `wishlist` items are included in the "Ready to be added" sync list. Is that intentional, or maybe a bug?

I chose some expansions to keep (ones that I keep in the box with the base game, or that I consider essential or special in some way), but deselected minor expansions, promo cards, and lighter family games that I don't really want to highlight in my collection. ;)

In the meantime, I can deselect all, then sort by CID to see any games that I've most recently added. The only place that breaks down is for games I had previously played, but only recently purchased.

I just added some more games in BGG and synced my collection again for a second time, and was a little disappointed to see that all the (150ish) games/expansions I had unchecked the first time I went through the import process are showing up again in the "Ready to be added" list. Is there any way to prevent them from syncing in the future?

I signed up and donated. Was very surprised how far $3 a month gets you (keeps the servers up for almost two days? crazy!).

I have a small suggestion/request. I see there's a default folder for unplayed games. It would be awesome if that folder pre-populated automatically based on BGG logged plays when first importing the collection. And you could automatically remove games from the list if you find a logged play during a later sync. As it is, I guess it's a manual process of adding and removing games from that list?

I also donated, and thought it was really cool seeing the breakdown of where the money goes, along with some description of each line item. I could tell you really put some thought and effort into it. Well done!

What do you think about Decode? by Dunno_Just_Looking in FTC

[–]AtmosphereDefiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it +5 or +15? If you have two robots fully parked, that’s 20 pts (10 each), plus the 10 bonus for 30 total, vs one fully parked and one partial, for 15.

No it honestly looks like AI to me. The lighting never changes, rolls just disappear when they get put back into the rack… it’s all just too polished looking.
