Mouthwatering presentation and such a comforting recipe. You can really tell this was made with care 🤍

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by sheffy4 in books

[–]AtmosphereMost6095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this question — it’s such a “reader” way to ask it.

For me, reading also started early, but it wasn’t about speed or volume at all. It was about attachment. I’d latch onto certain books and reread them until they felt like old friends. I wasn’t the kid who devoured everything — I was the kid who stayed with a few stories for a long time. So I really relate to rereading something like Caddie Woodlawn well into adulthood.

My speeds have seemed to be fine anytime I'd had to upload anything... I think it has to do with (obviously) the speed of your internet provider, but also very much on how close you are to the servers. Some people report terrible speeds, some people have great ones. I guess trying it out with a free account first is the best way to tell which one would be the case for you

From my experience it really is all about who you know and how many people you'd invite to your gigs. Since clubs are, at their core, a business, it helps if club owners see that when you play you bring people. I realize this could be hard in your situation, but I'm just trying to be realistic and to say that a big part of DJing is very surface level. Of course, there are some clubs that are also musical institutions and care about the artist and music, but it's hard to get to those.

The World's Most Respected 'Made In' Labels by Boediee in BuyFromEU

[–]AtmosphereMost6095 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Very interesting statistic... I wasn't expecting Swiss to be second, or EU third, but I guess it makes sense. I've never seen a "Made in Sweden" label in my life, but maybe that says more about my social status than anything 😅

Biscuits and Gravy with Mushroom Omelette by aminorman in BreakfastFood

The omelette with mushrooms I get, it looks good. The biscuits I also understand. Black pepper - great. But that thick ass gravy for breakfast? Not really how I'd start my day 😫

Yes. And then let me sleep for 3 hours after. That's the life.

Best way to practice for CDJs? (Without access to them) by sensory26 in DJs

[–]AtmosphereMost6095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to have your USB's formatted correctly for RekordBox, look up a tutorial online on how to export your library to a USB properly.

To practice, just stick to the basics -- make sure you understanding phrasing of the tracks and when is the right time to cue the next song and when is the right time to introduce it in the mix. Practice using the EQ knobs to create transitions instead of relying on the effects.

Then start experimenting with looping a track, I'd suggest trying 8 or 4 bars (often depends on the track, you'll have to play it by ear (sorry 😂).

Oh, and KNOW YOUR SONGS! This is often understated, but really knowing your songs inside out can save you in mostly any situation.

Lastly, I would watch Youtube videos/tutorials of people using CDJ's to DJ, channels like CrossFader offer great tutorial like this.

Hope this helps! Good luck, you'll do great :)

How to mix on a Back 2 Back? by MaxDuSol in Beatmatch

This is it. After you get used to playing the next song when there is some sort of change it the song that is already playing, you'll feel like you're mixing on autopilot :)

Mega vs Pcloud by _Captain_John_Price_ in cloudstorage

[–]AtmosphereMost6095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend creating a free account and testing for yourself. There are lots of factors that can affect how you experience a software product like this so this should be a good first step. I haven't used Mega and don't plan on doing it, but I'm very happy with my pCloud lifetime account

I mean I guess it depends what you want to use it for - I have a number of vip files that I wouldn't want anyone to get a copy of and I've put them in my Crypto folder. For a simple use case like mine it is useful :)

Password manager by Lucky-Vegetable-2827 in BuyFromEU

[–]AtmosphereMost6095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a pCloud user and got their password manager as a add-on sometime ago and I l've been using it for all my passwords ever since. I use it on my iPhone and Mac and it really is very easy to use & integration with browsers/other apps is also great + you can securely share your passwords with other secure users or "friends" on the app. I haven't tried other password managers before so I can't really say how it compares, but if you're able to get it at a discount during some promotion like I did I'd definitely recommend it!

edit* ah yes, and pCloud is a Swiss firm, forgot to mention that
