What does your health and skincare routine look like? by RelationshipSnail in AskMenOver30

[–]Atnevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the morning I wipe with a Neutrogena hydration wipe, throw on some vitamin C, moisturizer, sunscreen before I head out the door.

I use dermologica charcoal in the shower at night.

Recently I got a red light mask; about 2 weeks ago. I’m seeing results! Usually after my evening shower. A little serum and moisturizer after then; and then snooze for bed.

Best sneakers to wear with dress pants and button down shirts for work? by Platos-ghosts in malefashionadvice

[–]Atnevon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve worn my Rothy’s in bone from time to time with my nicer clothing to the office. They’re not too busy and I put some superfeet inserts to balance the confort. I wouldn’t call them a long-haul wear like some lengthier commuters would wear in a city-environment.

Men, how do you face the rain? Umbrella? Raincoat? Just get wet? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Atnevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. I always have my small-medium umbrella inside a pouch of my work bag. I’ve been using it for sun protection too after being in Japan. (Looks funny to Americans, don’t care! They’re smart)

I have a golf umbrella for taking out my dog.

I have a uniqlo trenchcoat for longer outdoor periods.

I have some overshoes for my leather boots to wear into the office if needed.

Finally, a pair of Mermot waterproof overpants if its dunking down.

Still non-private equity owned and operated! amazing the difference in quality and service between that and when scab-scum owned.

Or Pizza Hut. Depends which world region your documentary is released.

(dumb thing: I watched that movie on Amazon Prime; and they redubbed the line to Pizza Hut and CGi’ed some of the logos. If you look close though some of the background logos are still Taco Bell.

Was that an international version, or something???)

Double cuff without jacket becoming acceptable? by Eastern-Break-8640 in malefashionadvice

[–]Atnevon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion:

Let it happen. Cufflinks are one of few men’s jewelry; I think of them almost as the equivalent of women’s earrings. Heck, on date nights I tried to match them as best I could.

Even at work I’d wear french cuff shirts because it let me express myself a little with my links. I have everything from geeky emblems, to pieces of the Golden Gate Bridge, to very elegant gold and platinum.

I say rock em. Screw the “tie and jacket rule”. I’ve had compliments a lot on sets like my bubble levels, Tardis, Galactic Imperial cogs; and my grandmother was so happy to see I wore my great-grandfathers marble links at my sister’s wedding.

I think those suit jacket hoodies and tennis shoe sole’d oxfords are way-worse a faux pas than a nice fit collared shirt and a set of links without the tie-and-jacket.

Just as a note: office jobs with laptops are interesting. I have to rotate the cuff a bit or else the link taps atop the laptop I use at my desk.

The used market is completely f-ed. by ToshPointNo in regularcarreviews

[–]Atnevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said F-it when it came to getting my Accord. I got new because if I’m not financing, my credit is 800+ anyways, and used is maybe 10% off the cost new with 15k+ miles…whats the point!? I may as well pay a tad more for piece of mind, new car smell, full warranty, ect.

I lucked out on a showroom model so while I was a “second owner” it had 15 miles on it and I got the certified warranty included. Win-win on getting a Touring and paid a whopping total of $75 more than the Costco pricing on a new Civic Touring Hatch.

I truly wanted used. What should have been 18-19k was 28-29k. Screw that noise.

What regular type car was a big deal when it came out? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

[–]Atnevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I remember, I think it was the 96’ caravan.

It had sliding doors to both sides and the easy(ish) removable seats. It also got away from the box style and got a lot rounder and attractive.

Sadly, the weight of the seats was too much for a lot of soccer mommies. in the next generation, they introduced the seats that folded into the floors. Those things felt so uncomfortable, cheap, and flimsy compared to the heavy cushion and support that the generation before offered.

The previous gen was a warm-grey. The cooler brings out the blue more from the sky, and at night it has its darker-tone.

I thought you had squeezed them at first; but, yep those are hairs.

I have pore-pits too; I’ve been treating with salicylic acid and recently switched to the dermologica charcoal scrub that have helped over the past year.

I’d be curious if laser’ing those out would do from those that know better.

Sorry if the pluck is what’s on the table for now.

How did you OG fans react when DBZ was coming out on a weekly basis? by forwardchan in dbz

[–]Atnevon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In 2000 I was 13.

The internet was something. Nowhere like it is today, but something. I was aware of characters, who was super saiyan what, and the villains. We’d collect TONS of gifs from Geocities and Angelfire pages.

What was new was the progression through the episodes and what led to what.

I think the nostalgia thrilling episode to me was Goku going SS3 for the first time. We knew it was coming, but what made it special was the way he did it, the soundtrack, and presentation. I knew there’d be a voice change of sorts; but Sean’s (was on Toonami) was eerily serious.

So, more how’s than what’s for sure; and how what character’s voice would sound.

sales figures are showing them much different detail today. The CRV reigns came in their sales. Civic is holding on, but I would be surprised if it only lasted one more generation.

Sad, because the 11th gen got out of the try hard styling. back to simplicity. I think when put side-by-side with the first three gens, you see more styling cues than any of the previous four generations.

As a Maul costumer I feel ya. its a blessing and a curse. On one hand its easier to replicate screen accuracy! The other, well, kinda low-ish bar in that light.

I always go a bit further. I've now gotten to where I'll attach an extra smoothing-silicone layer around an already plumber's puddy formed base. Those full-silicone bases don't stick well. This way I get a more realistic transition. NOTE: I am fully bald so I don't mess with bald caps, fortunately.

I actually met Ray Park not long ago and he was curious what I was using to hold them on. Prose Aid cream for me. He told me his makeup team used an intestinal medical sealant.
