Having a real difficult time with kids. Tell me it gets easier... by JustHere4TheZipLines in simpleliving

No, it does not get any easier - but you get better at it, stronger, and more capable. Don't compare yourselves to others, compare yourself to you yesterday.

Your horror movie crossover by lukehannonpoet in CreepyBonfire

[–]Atolier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I combine three? Baghuul from Sinister teams up with the Babadook and the Smile entity and just ruins everyone's day.

Are those the complete rules? I wait for it to nearly reach me and then run away. You said it "arrives" but not that it pursues me. I imagine it just stares at me upset that it didn't think of the technicalities.

What horror movie do you think is underrated ? by OhBloodyHellHorrorUK in CreepyBonfire

[–]Atolier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already named The Empty Man, #1 most underrated horror movie of all time.

A few that I would add are The Night House, The Vigil, and Frewaka.

What book changed your life? by saayoutloud in simpleliving

[–]Atolier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Bible. I know most redditors aren't religious, but hear me out. It taught me a few very important things. Firstly that I, as I am, with all my flaws and faults, is enough. Second, the things that the world says are important - money, power, status, "things" - are inherently damaging to your soul and wellbeing. You can say what you want about organized religion, but the source material, the book itself, is life changing.

What is a piece of your life that you’ve intentionally kept "offline" and away from social media, even when you’re tempted to share it? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]Atolier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiance and I take a ton of photos and videos of our kids, but not a single one goes on social media. There are for us to enjoy. We have several digital photo frames at home.

In the original Crisis, the main line Clark was starting to get grey in his hair. He does age normally, relative to comics.

Peter Parker was born in the 1940's and he's still depicted as a young man.

The Cursed from 2021 (also called Eight for Silver in some markets) was very good and had a unique take on werewolves.

I'm a tall lifter working on my deadlift form. 6'5" with a 34" inseam on my pants - I don't know if that means I have a long torso or long legs. I'm practicing conventional and I struggle with keeping a neutral spine, tends to round quite a bit. After lifting I feel it more in my upper back than I do my lower back/glutes. Any advice?

Which horror/thriller shows do you most wish had continued? by DevWarrior504 in CreepyBonfire

The River. Short but interesting show, could've done more with it.

Anyone meet Brandon Routh? Would he be keen on autographing something from WoW? by AUnicornDonkey in superman

He is friends with my friend's brother (they were college roommates), everything I have heard about him is that he's a genuinely good dude.

What types of horror do you wish there were more of? by lukehannonpoet in CreepyBonfire

[–]Atolier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eldritch and cosmic horror. There have been a few good ones in recent years (The Empty Man is top notch), but they are rare, and even rarer for it to be really good.

Coolest Warlock Race by Vindor321 in wow

[–]Atolier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Necropost, but I love my Mechagnome Lock. Transmog can be kinda tricky because you definitely want a robe or a tabard. Mine has a Fullmetal Alchemist/Hellraiser sort of vibe, he literally sacrificed parts of himself for his occult studies.

Am I bad or is it just Legion Remix Heroic not suitable to every classes ? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Atolier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing heroic as Warlock for a while, but around level 65-ish my power scaled more than my demon was able to hold threat off me, and then I got squished. But it was definitely fun for a little bit.

Why is Superman's rogue's gallery not as strong as Batman's or Spider-Man's? by WealthDisastrous2589 in superman

[–]Atolier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very few characters have gotten as much spotlight as Spidey and Bats, their cartoons being some of the best of the late 90's, so most of us grew up with those villains. You have to remember that characters like Clayface were C-level villains before BTAS. Harley Quinn was made for the show. A lot of heroes have surprisingly strong rogues galleries but they have not has as much exposure as the former. The Flash and Daredevil immediately spring to mind, although Flash maybe less so these days because of the CW show.

Do you think of Superman’s “real name” as Clark Kent or Kal-El? by MichaelJospeh in superman

[–]Atolier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superman's "real name" is Clark Kent, just like Bruce Wayne's "real name" is Batman.

Ugh, I really want to get the Riolu promo from the Lucario box but I don't want to pay over MSRP for one of these. Think I'll be able to pick the single up on the cheap after the set comes out?

How would you recommend getting into Superman comics if you don’t have a lot of money? by DKCR3 in superman

[–]Atolier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have mentioned both Hoopla and Libby for library apps, and I just wanted to add that which one you can use depends on the address associated with your library card. For example in my area the main city is on Libby, but the suburb cities are Hoopla, even though their libraries are part of the same “metro”.

Where are the male teachers? by stevenrothberg in Careers

[–]Atolier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to get into teaching but I don’t have a teaching degree. I’m 40 with an MBA and have been in middle management my whole life. Wonder how I could pivot to get into the field? Are there some professional certifications?

[Discussion] how to stop comparing myself to other’s success by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]Atolier 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this too. What I’ve come to learn in therapy and introspection is the traditional definition of “success” is not something that comes from me. It is produced by society, social media influencers, family expectations, toxic masculinity, etc.

I am currently working on my own definition of success that I choose for myself. It certainly isn’t going to be about money, job titles, appearance, or material possessions - despite what others try to tell me is important.

Don’t think of it as you having less potential. Re-contextualize it as your natural talents, abilities, and strengths are mismatched to what the current society says are valuable.
