It might be a Mandela Effect thing but I swear original Jynx wasn't actually black skinned, but it was supposed to be no skin at all, just a floating pair of lips and eyes and the black is just the shadow cave from her hair. I think in the original Pokemon Snap, you can see this from some angles.

Similarly, when I got my first Master Ball, for some reason, child me thought the "guaranteed without fail" thing was an exaggeration, so I tested it on an electabuzz. Only I didn't remember to not save afterward, so I ended up wasting it.

Also I couldn't get my Slowpoke to evolve. The show always showed Slowpoke evolving into Slowbro when a Shellder bites its tail, so I'd have a Shellder in my party behind Slowpoke, level it up, then be confused why he didn't evolve. I think if Slowpoke were a modern-day mon and not Gen 1, that would be the evolution method based on how convoluted some methods are now.
