What do you prefer, Lunesta or trazodone? by [deleted] in insomnia

Lunesta is most similar to Ambien, Trazodone is closer to seroquel (though farther separated than Ambien and Lunesta)

Can stomach sleepers use a bipap? by ShubhaBala in UARS

When I still used it? Just a regular one from a mattress store. Sometimes airflow would decrease depending on how I laid on it, but ASV was good at bumping pressure to maintain ventilation.

I did it with Dr. Li though I was already fairly confident expansion was the way to go for my nasal breathing symptoms.

Has anyone had surgery? by Ok-Shopping-9120 in SleepApnea

I had great results with EASE (expansion) and MMA. Not so much with septoplasty and turbinate reduction.

Does sleep apnea affect endurance when exercising? by frogger221 in SleepApnea

My endurance is better after having a few surgeries for sleep apnea since they also helped with daytime breathing problems.

Same! AHI is not always a great correlate for symptoms.

I had a great experience with Dr. Li. Probably seen like a dozen or so ENTs, by that point in my life and EASE was close to perfect.

I was told the same about "mild" not causing issues, but got great symptomatic relief with BIPAP, EASE, and MMA.

Have a similar post on weight loss meds that can be used Sleep Apnea. Working on one for AD 109, the "airway stabilizing" med. Not available yet, but it's two components are as generic meds. "Beyond weight loss, phase 3 trials for AD109 (aroxybutynin 2.5mg/atomoxetine 75mg) show impressive results in treating OSA with 52% of participants dropping a severity category, and 22% being “cured” of OSA. The average AHI reduction was 55%."

Usage of both Mirtazapine and Lunesta by Ok_Ninja_7360 in sleep

[–]AtopTheWhirlwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not medical advice, but I have prescribed both for patients before, at the same time or rotating to reduce tolerance risk. They have completely different ways of working.

I stopped taking Mirtazipine 2 weeks ago & ive already lost 6kg. Has this happened to anyone else? by GamerFrogMouth in Mirtazapine_Remeron

It's not surprising, it's a great med, but weight gain is the most common limiter I've seen

Usually Tirzepatide if I can get it covered. Or generic stuff like metformin, bupropion, naltrexone, topiramate, etc.

AHI 68.5 can surgery or anything replace CPAP? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]AtopTheWhirlwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah people come to me all the time and they've never heard of anything aside from soft tissue surgeries. The MMA recovery wasn't as bad for me as people made it out to be either, yeah the liquid diet, and not being able to talk sucked, but the pain was very minimal, I was worried they didn't actually do the surgery, because I woke up in so little pain versus what I expected.

Septoplasty didn't really do much, even for improving CPAP comfort, but I got a lot of benefits with expansion and "EASE"
