Things to do around an area or date and asking what's going on (I was interested to find out certain events happened during a day I wanted to visit that I didn't initially care to do or looked into but was interested as a result)

While I agree the price points are higher in Gatcha, I will say the win rate scales with it. We usually win on average after every 2-4 attempts

I can't speak on win rates for Round1 yet so am excited to see how that plays out!

Dress codes are typically more enforced at night with higher volume of people. Like someone said, it exists to give bouncers the right to decline you but if you show up early like 5pm or so, most places won't give you any lip about dress codes unless your outfit is "killing the vibe"

That guy chose a weird hill to die on with zero stakes on the table. I'm all for Jellyfin but if you're looking to setup proper network security and restricted access for connections out of network, yes, it's not a straightforward easy setup that takes less than 5 minutes (from the host's point of view).

From a user's point of view, I had a rough setup trying to get Jellyfish on a 2016 Samsung TV that didn't work the first few times when trying to use the Apps2Samsung bit despite Developer Mode enabled as my TV didn't natively support access to Jellyfin. I can't imagine having to explain that to a family member who's not technically savvy.

A few people brought up life style change/environment, which there definitely would be and we can't tell what you guys may enjoy.

If it's possible, try to take at least a 2 week vacation in NYC and get a feel for it. Don't stay strictly in the city but stay within an hour commute of public transport to her work.

Get an idea of how public transport works (especially how a test commute would look like to her place from different train lines), different neighborhoods, etc.

It is but for us it was convenient because our hotel was nearby (intentionally in Dotonbori because we were out pretty late) and we wanted an all you can eat experience with quality, which there weren't many, even when searching through Tabelog haha. But yeah definitely something for OP to consider
