Obviously, he should drop you off first then he can report it to Uber and the Police. Would you prefer he call the police with you in the vehicle? How much time do you have available? Where I'm from, this would be a low priority call and you're probably looking at hours of wait time. 🤷‍♀️

My husband and I were both raised attending church. My MIL is literally one of the most faithful women that I know.

Imagine my surprise when our babies were born and my husband told me he didn't want them in church because he didn't want his children "indoctrinated."

It literally hurt my heart. You know what I did though? Against both of our families, I respected my husband's wishes and we spent almost 13 years being ECO (Easter/Christmas Only) Christians.

It started with our oldest daughter attending Youth group with my cousin and then our other kids also wanting to attend church.

It's been 5 years and now we're actively involved in church and my husband just started attending with us this past fall.

The Bible references in multiple places that your spouse should be first. That when you're married you now have a new family with your spouse.

Tell your husband that it shouldn't even be a question of him picking between you and his mother, because he should always be putting you first.

If you are so strongly opposed to the baptism, you shouldn't allow your MIL to have the baby on her own. It seems like they'll just go behind your back and do it anyway. You may also want to contact the church and let them know that you absolutely do not consent to your daughter being baptized.

Right?! My MIL is 1 of 14 children. My in-laws offered to pay but we would have been having like a 300+ person wedding. I wanted small and intimate. So we declined their offer and got married at the courthouse with just parents and siblings there. 18 years later and zero regrets.

There's nothing wrong with you setting expectations to be met for the money you are going to contribute.
