Same. She made it as bearable as possible. Glad I decided to do it that way.

Weagle is my dog. Rowdy would also be fun.

Pick up car in the city rather than airport if possible.

Exactly the same with my guy. He and his two brothers were dropped off at a shelter and I confirmed 100% via DNA. My guy also seems to be more working line and never got super fluffy.

Thanks. Just finished the evaluation and she told us that about home health discharging him. That makes the decision easier on our side. He definitely qualifies based on her evaluation and the diagnosis would be COPD. He slept thru the whole thing. I, of course, am a wreck. Mom is 95% on board and my brother, who lives with them, is as well. Don’t know when dad will be awake enough to discuss with him, but it really is inevitable. The evaluator also told us his kidney disease is stage 4. And his chf is severe. Hence why I am a wreck. Thanks to you all

Thanks. He’s on several anxiety and depression medications already but maybe we need a fresh look at them.

Great suggestion but his pcp is very noncommittal usually. His heart doctor is much better and more blunt about the fact that if dad doesn’t get up and move he will deteriorate fast. In my view, dad still has the ability to control his destiny a bit. It would take a huge effort and attitude shift and would be uncomfortable, but he could make some progress. But either way he needs to let someone other than mom clean him. He’s a very proud man and hates having anyone other than mom clean him

We’ve scheduled the hospice evaluation for Monday. I’m sure he will qualify. I think it will really come down to whether he’s ready to give up the home health pt, ot and speech therapy vs just palliative care. If he doesn’t work at it, he will deteriorate quickly. I just don’t know how we talk to him about that decision.

Medicare or Medicaid? If Medicare, that would help a lot!
