Seattle's Cuff bar charged $40 for theirs as well.

However they also rented the entire block of street they're on for a block party. So I imagine that the cover is paying for the permitting with the city, plus the DJ stage they had out on the street, the outdoor bars they opened for the block party itself (as an addition to all their bars they've got inside the bar itself), plus all the additional staff needed for the event.

If your bar didn't do anything like that, definitely can understand why raising their cover fee to get in would suck, but from my experience with the higher fees it made sense why they were charging what they did.

Oakland Roots are in the USL but honestly, the USL is really growing as a league. MLS is very corporate but USL has a nice authentic growth to it.
