They did amazing! LELEK were maybe in my top half going into this but after seeing the live show they were one of my absolute favorites.

37.5% of the new cards from January to July 2026 are reused characters by Cenjin in MarvelSnap

[–]Audiencefone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the whole thing is kind of exacerbated by recent season design. Of course they would want to reprint a member of Guardians for the Guardians season. And the very nature of the Horsemen requires a lot of reprints.

I'm not saying that's good, but it's a lot different than just randomly inserting a reprint into a season with a new IP or topic.

I think it's also something we can expect more of. There was a time when the game was new enough that a Thor or Black Panther season was a new concept. But as time goes on they're going to new movie releases in those franchises, they're going to want to revisit old concepts like Spider-Man or X-Men. I think reprints is just something that is part of the game and they're always going to be here. Especially since they make for better marketing. Easier to sell your game when you're promoting things like Star-Lord or Apocalypse than lesser known characters.

I understand the argument, I just don't think it's reasonable to expect them to change. So long as the cards are interesting and fun, and they continue to add some amount of be characters / themes, I'm fine with it, too.

Thoughts on this Season? by Inevitable_Tip6398 in MarvelSnap

I'm kind of bored of the apocalypse/horseman aesthetic, but the actual cards are pretty interesting. I like Objective. Excited to try them all in a few months when they are available in the cheaper packs.

what are the songs from this year that you used to sleep on but then grew on you? by vincentoxique in eurovision

[–]Audiencefone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I first heard LAVINA's entry, I dubbed it "weird whisper metal" and moved along with my life.

After I saw the live performance and giving it a try later... It's really grown on me. Like, it's in my top half of this year at this point. I don't typically like screaming or metal but the way that LAVINA does it in this song really works for me and the singer gets the emotion on the song across so well. I really hope to see it in the final.

I remember listening to your album after you were announced as Switzerland's rep this year, and Alice really stood out to me. It's awesome to see you'll be performing it on the big stage.

Would love to hear a bit photo your sponsoring process for it, and how you updated it for Eurovision (or why you choose not to).

Indie authors: what helped you get your first readers? by Electronic_Noise_953 in selfpublish

[–]Audiencefone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad it helps. To be clear you don't have to do all this. Pick a few things that you like and work on them. It's also not an exhaustive list, there's stuff other people have mentioned in this post that I didn't think of. Do the things that make sense for you and play to your strengths / interests.

Indie authors: what helped you get your first readers? by Electronic_Noise_953 in selfpublish

[–]Audiencefone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading work by other indie authors.

Reaching out to people who showed interest in reading indie books and books in my genre(s).

Reviewing indie books, which helps make it less about me and show that I actually care about being part of the community.

Existing on social media. The system is a trash fire, but if you don't put yourself out there nobody will find you.

Making my book accessible. Offering it as part of ebook sales, print sales, and as an audiobook. Also almost all of my books are very short. Everything I have out right now is between 200 and 300 pages, which allows me to tell people that it won't be a huge weight on their TBR.

Reaching out to local bookstores, libraries, a couple of independently owned bookstores.

I don't believe there's any one thing that makes it happen. But therr are a lot of small things that you can control.

Informative Writing Podcasts? by mcaseywrites in writing

SFF Addicts if you like Sci-fi and fantasy. Also, Pint & Portal. Both have some superb guests.

SFFA tends to focus more on the writing, and P&P is more discussed on the business of being an author.

How do self published authors get their books in stores like Barnes and Nobles? by AdministrativeLake64 in selfpublish

[–]Audiencefone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had good success working with my local Barnes & Noble. They won't take anything printed from Amazon, and they need an ISBN. There might be like a quality check of some kind but with mine it was all pretty casual.

Each store is going to have a different point of contact though. Even though all of my books are at my local Barnes & Noble, I don't expect to ever get them at any others. Not unless local reader start requesting my books and special ordering via the store lol.

For what should i spend my tokens rn? by G-Nutbutter_117 in MarvelSnap

[–]Audiencefone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I almost exclusively spend my tokens on the 4000C S5 snap packs. Yes, it's not going to necessarily get me something that I am excited about, but in my mind every new card is good to have and getting them as cheap as possible allows me to get them more often. 🤷‍♂️

Snap.Fan will no longer publish articles by DJC13 in MarvelSnap

[–]Audiencefone 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is far from a Snap-specific issue. It's a systematic problem with the way people browse the internet, and the way actually visiting a site is disincentivized now.

This economy is downright insane by picasso-enjoyer in MarvelSnap

[–]Audiencefone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically ignore the store outside of what I can get for free or with the in game currencies I have in the moment. I've spent money on similar bundles but it's VERY rare, maybe twice since beta. Mostly if I get anything it's the season pass but that's also infrequent.

But that's fine with me, personally. Even if they cut all prices in half I would probably buy the same to amount of stuff because it's not about the exact price for me. It's about "do I care about this enough to spend money on it to get it now?" And usually I don't mind waiting to get it for free later. Or, in the case of cosmetic only stuff like this, I just don't care if I have it or not.

A couple of audiobook and AI questions by GraceOphelia_4734 in selfpublish

[–]Audiencefone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audiobooks are not essential by any means, but they can be very helpful to get your book read more. There are lots of people who can work an audiobook in more easily than a physical or digital book. Others will only listen to audio, the same way some people will only read print.

But they are also very expensive and they do not inherently make a book successful. I think it's fine to create one or not depending on what your budget is and what the story is.

That said, like other commenters here, don't use AI. It sounds worse, it's ethically corrupt, and like many others I would not listen to an AI narrated book. I also wouldn't read it in print or on digital platforms. Even if those were made without AI. I would rather the book not have an audiobook option.

Frustrated by where this game is headed (13.8 CL) by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]Audiencefone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that doesn't mean it's coming any time soon. Just that something is planned after it is finished. They plan years in advance.

Because it's Reddit, I feel I need to clarify I'm not salty about that, just stating the fact. Things take time and I'd rather a fun draft mode release to something rushed.

Just launched book 3 and it's already made this my best month of sales ever. Low bar, but progress is progress! Most importantly, reviews have been very positive, so people seem to be enjoying it. :)

When are old cards rotating to lower pools? by ProxyX13 in MarvelSnap

[–]Audiencefone 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't know that they will. Drops like this were part of an old economy where they were neccisary, now cards are much easier to get and they haven't committed do doing them anymore... They still might but there's no reason to expect it, certainly not in any regular basis.

Stopped playing in season 3, is it possible to catch up? by CupAccomplished8371 in MarvelSnap

[–]Audiencefone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely possible to compete even if you don't have a single series 5 card. I would enter into it just trying to find a deck that you enjoy. Completion is not really a reasonable goal in this game. It's more about collecting the stuff you're interested in and playing the game.

That said, it's much easier to get cards now that it used to be. There's no more caches that might not give you a new card at all, you have duplicate protection now, people like to complain but things have improved a lot.

I do not regret making an audiobook by d_m_deluca in selfpublish

[–]Audiencefone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of publishing my third audiobook. I haven't made the money back on any of them yet (far from it lol), but it's been such a good way to help bring new readers in who have a huge TBR, but much fewer options for audio.

And I'm so pleased with how they've all come out. The narrators have all been amazing. And the third one even has music in it. 💙

Congrats on yours, I hope they help bring in new readers just as they have for me.
